Did Sun Tzu get into trouble for killing Emperors (most likely) favorite concubine in order to get others to obey? Did 2:nd in line top concubine know military wording, or did Tzu explain to her or previous concubine, one he killed, military dictionary? Seems story might been simplified over time, considering why would woman know military formation and such and what correct one looks like. I mean they were women in past, they likely did not receive any training on weaponry if they lived near large cities, especially if they would live near Emperor or other high ranking person. Some small outpost villages would teach women to protect themselves and children from bandits and wild beasts.

He asked the eldest to tell the others to form a line (stand in a line). It was moreso that she giggled at the command as did the others. Pretty sure had she taken the sword and told them to stand in a line nothing would have happened to her. The point was to demonstrate the need for Fear of Punishment, for without it, your soldiers are worthless. --- Pretty sure the Emperor had plenty, and she was the oldest so... you know...

After the failure of The initial order he declared the fault was due to the commander not making the intent and the instructions clear. After providing detailed instruction of the expected response, Sun-Tzu gave the order again. Only after the second failure did he declare the failure lies with the student for not absorbing the lesson and intent, and execute her.
