It’s nice to watch a video about Jim Maloney and learn more about him. He’s from where my wife grew up in Fresno, CA so I like to add cards of guys like that to my collection. I really like his rookie card and the 1965 issues. Great looking cards and the certified auto is sweet. Thanks for sharing, Rob.

Hey Hugo! That’s cool that he’s from where your wife grew up. A couple of the players I’m going to spotlight are from CA. Also, Maloney is fun to collect and his cards are inexpensive. Which is good for me 😝. I appreciate you watching!!!

Hey Rob, very nice video on Jim Maloney. I am a big fan of players like him, Dean Chance and Sam McDowell. Guys that had the talent and at times showed they were worthy of the HOF but for different reasons they couldn’t sustain the high level of play long enough to get there. I enjoy collecting players like that. Thanks for taking the time to show your Maloney collection and to share his career. Well done!

Hi Terry! Yeah, I love guys like this, especially Reds players. Who knows what would have happened if a healthy Maloney pitched for the 1970 Reds in the WS. It’s definitely fun to think about. I appreciate you watching, my friend!

I love videos about “common” players or Hall of Good or Very Good players. Anybody who makes it to the majors is worth celebrating. That’s why I like to collect runs of these kinds of players. Thanks for sharing, Rob. All the best.

Hi Dan! This was a fun video to make. I’ve always been fascinated by Maloney and wondered what it would have been like if he pitched for the Big Red Machine. Thanks for watching, my friend!

Fascinating. I didn't realize Maloney was as good as he was from 1963 on. A pity he only had Bench as his battery-mate for two seasons, but he did all right for himself up to then. A career ERA of 3.19 is nothing to sneeze at. Maloney would have had competition for ace status on the BRM.The Reds employed a six-man rotation headed by Gary Nolan, Don Gullett and Jack Billingham, all of whom could have been aces on lesser teams, and the other three rotation members all had double-digit wins. The Reds also used a co-closer system with Rawley Eastwick and Will McEnaney. Poor Bill Plummer! He only got to play one day a week, on Bench's rest day,. That was one stacked lineup in 1975-76. Even the backups, Dan Driessen and Merv Rettenmund, were well-known names. To me, anyway. 🤣

Hi John! No doubt the Big Red Machine was stacked. It would’ve been interesting to see a healthy Maloney on the 70 team. He would’ve been 32 years old and in his prime. Fun to think about. I appreciate you watching, my friend!

Man such a great showcase and player stories. Kind of reminds me of what Bowden Francis did this past year when he came up with the jays. A rookie who took a no no into the tenth just the jays couldn’t score for him. He did the same thing the very next game. Well I don’t remember it being ten innings but I’m pretty sure it was 9. I’m glad Maloney got the no no’s eventually. Take care my friend
@RobCashCards16 күн бұрын
David! Thanks, my friend! I couldn’t imagine what Francis and Maloney were really thinking taking a no no into the tenth inning. Im sure the hitters probably putting too much pressure on themselves. Thanks for watching, brother!!!
