I grew up a Yankees fan and out of all the players, you mentioned, Matt Williams was the one that I recognize the most from playing video games growing up. He was always a great player to have on your team, and it made me pay attention to him whenever he was on TV, but I just rarely got to see him living in New York

I’m a New Yorker myself, except I’m a Mets fan. Yea he was a true slugger. I remember watching him when we’d play the Dbacks. I think he was on the 2001 WS team too.

I definitely knew of Matt Williams but that’s a great point I had no idea he was one of the best third baseman‘s of the 90s I just knew he was a great hitter and if I had the option I would always pick him on my team, playing baseball video games on N 64

Yea I feel like so much of my baseball knowledge from the 90s/early 2000s was from video games too lol
