2:41, this is why I wish they hadn't changed the intentional walks. When they had to throw 4 pitches and the hitter could swing, you could end up with epic moments like this.

I wished that they people could still swing at intentional walks I mean this part 2:41 not only shows that pitchers need to execute no matter what but it also shows how great my favorite player is Miguel Cabrera a great reach and still an excellent swing up the middle for even a ball that's right there gotta give him props he's got an amazing swing

There’s always some jackass who makes one of these “back when” comments. Baseball has remained fundamentally the same in its rules for 150 years. Modern rules changes have mostly been made to speed up the pace of play and protect players from injury. Dibble was ACTUALLY trying to have his throw HIT the runner “OUTSIDE the running box.” That WOULD have resulted in the batter/runner being OUT…AND the runner coming home RETURNED to 3rd base. It was actually a BRILLIANT attempt!!!
@skip69788 ай бұрын
The thing is: the runner has to be outside the box in order to be hit with the ball outside the runners box. And this runner was clearly in the runners box the entire time. So no, that wasn't what he was attempting to do. He's far from a genius; he's an idiot who let frustration get the best of him.
