This is perfect for ESPN and MLB, terrible for fans of any other team in baseball that isn't NY or LA. I know other teams can occasionally win the world series, they've shown it's possible, but baseball is moving towards a 2 city sport, the biggest markets in America, and soon you won't need all the other teams in baseball. Sometime (I'm sure soon), you're going to see the Dodgers and (or at least and/or) the Yankees in the world series every year. Fans need to realize if they don't want to keep paying exorbitant prices for (season) tickets, merchandise, and concessions, they need to stop supporting baseball. The fact that people are willing to pay so much is why it is a rich person's sport. It's why baseball can afford ridiculous salaries. Baseball needs to end free agency, but fans have the power to change things... I just don't think most fans realize it or they simply don't care. We're in a crappy economy and most people can't take their family to games on a regular basis. These types of contracts are only going to worsen the situation for fans. Back when they implemented free agency, the selling point was that players could go play for their favorite team, but that wasn't it and clearly isn't it. It's about money and getting as much as they can. Free agency is a bargaining chip. And the trend will have to be to get smaller markets (like Oakland, Tampa, etc..) to move to larger markets so they can afford to compete with the rich teams (large markets). Portland (Oregon) would love to have baseball, but they can't afford it. There's no way they'd ever compete in today's games. This is the decay of baseball and I hope the sport goes bankrupt someday. I played it growing up, loved it, but now I can't afford it. So I won't buy merchandise. I won't support it. I think guys like Mookie Betts ruin the sport for their fan base. Freddie Freeman disappointed tons of Atlanta fans and I wouldn't be surprised to see Albies and Acuna leave for LA or NY. It's just ripping the sport apart. You think Angels fans like Ohtani in Dodger blue? Every time another fan gets disappointed by all this, they should turn away and stop supporting it. Slowly baseball will lose their fan base.

Othani has singed for 10 years $700MM; Now yesterday’s prices are not todays prices! MLB is like real estate, if a house in the neighborhood gets sold for way more than you think its worth, That means your house value has just gone up because of that sale.
