The thing about ERA is that you can't necessarily conclude how good or bad a pitcher is if he has a HIGH ERA . If a pitcher has a very low ERA, especially over a long period, you can reasonably conclude he's a damn good pitcher regardless of what else is going on with the rest of his team. In this case the ball is usually not even being fielded enough for it to matter whether or not they're that good.

There are so many stats unique to Baseball - I don’t mean to be super critical but I do wonder why you included stats that you admittedly don’t know much about, don’t understand, and are not willing to learn? They keep track of batting average and other stats with runners in scoring position and it's usually abbreviated as RISP.

Disagree. A Little Blooper, and a laser to the Outfield that gets caught, the blooper is more valuable. It's reality baseball. We are not talking abstractions here. And out is an out no matter how beautiful the hit, the hit is a hit, no matter how ugly. And so it will always be.
