Just started getting into baseball and this was very helpful!

I have been a baseball fan for almost 10 years and I'm an exceptionally good pitcher: obviously just for fun. And I really enjoy people that explain statistics so then I can understand who is a good player and who isn't. So thank you!

As a 100% new fan of baseball im fascinated about the stat tracking. This video really helped me at looking at stats. Thank you

You are so underrated, the video quality is amizing and straight to the point, the explenatations are clear, and the editing is very good! I don't understand how you only have 45 subs. You just gained a new sub!

"What's more important, I don't know..." In the Moneyball book, the author claims (if I'm remembering correctly) that slugging, while important, was a distant second behind OBP in terms of correlating to game wins. But almost everything else was a distant third after slugging!

When it comes to the slugging percentage and what's deemed good and bad, are all the numbers given measured in percentages?
@sydrabin36853 ай бұрын
This was quite good and could have been even better with some live examples, especially with slugging % and OPS.

OPS and WAR are the 2 most important stats for hitters. ERA and WAR for pitchers.

Great video, it has always seemed that "clutch, or meaningful" hits can be somewhat neglected in these stats. RBI's covers this to an extent, maybe there could be a stat indicating "game winning hits, hits that advance a runner, hits that tie a game etc .. ex. Hitter hits 2 HR in a 12-0 game and it blows all the stats up, guy goes 2 for 5 with a double that ties the game in the 9th, then hits walk off single to win it in 11 innings ...

I think they do keep track of this but it’s not part of their box stats. I always see announcers rattling off some random information all the time like, “36 player to homer 3 times in a game”

probably a single or walk could be 1/4, 2b is 2/4, 3B is 3/4 and a home run is 4/4. Then you would just have 1 combined stat

My ba last year was 385 but my obp was 667. Is this okay? Slugging was 615, so I am a little worried about that. I always thought slugging was higher than on base percentage.
@doodle27633 жыл бұрын
that’s a really high obp
@TBHLove3 жыл бұрын
Bro if you’re getting on base damn near 7/10 times you don’t need to worry about any stats

All these new sabermetrics and the game is as boring to watch as it's ever been.
