Combat is basically an MLB barrel profile. Not sure why nobody else thought of doing that, considering MLB bats are generally drop 1 or 2 to have that kind of barrel, and low density wood strong enough to not break on the first swing is super rare. Neither of those things are problems with alloy. Thing is, once you’ve swung a bat like that, and I have, especially with wood it is really hard to go back to anything else. I suspect BBCOR is forever changed, that is unless this has a significant durability issue that Easton Rawlings wants to test out with Combat that they would prefer to protect their core brands from.

Great point at the end, Will. Any bat rated 22 or higher is awesome. Heck, last spring, Georgia Tech batted .305 and slugged .516 mostly using 44 Pro XP Alloy bats rated 22. Drew Burress used his customized 44 Pro Power XP (rated lower than 22), and still batted .381 with 25 dingers. It's mostly the batter, not the bat.

That's because the Combat didn't exist last year. This bat released 2 months ago - completely new tech from any easton/rawlings/combat that has been released in the BBCOR era.

yeah it seems that way, but really this bat is just a new-tech BBCOR from Rawlings/Easton that they decided to give to Combat. The 2 closest-feeling bats to the Combat are probably the Icon and the Maxum Ultra - which is wild because the Combat is a full-alloy.

I swung the Combat yesterday. I turned 14 in September. I was able to get great backspin with the Combat. My gamer for bbcor is the green icon. I felt the miss hits were close but the misshits were better with the Combat and I was able to get better backspin with the combat.

Love the sound of that Combat. Down here around New Braunfels, TX. My son is playing middle school ball and needs a BBCOR and these 2 are the top of his list. Hes almost 12 and is 5'8" 150, he is gaming a USSSA 30" -5 Zoa atm, would the Combat be more like the Zoa in terms of feel? Love the vids!! Keep it up!
