I would honestly swing the select pwr I’m pretty light around 120 and still just whip a 33 select around and the sweet spot will really reward you no matter if you miss or barrel

4 out of 4 of the atlas bats on our 15u travel team have dents in them. None get use with the crap balls in pitching machines. All are still being used. Most of the dents are (maybe all) toward the handle.

They posted a video recently on the 2023 select vs the new goods go check it out but they said the select is a better gamer and easier too handle with better durability but if you can get used to the heavy swing weight and have money or time to handle returns if it breaks the goods is better as it hits the ball harder and further cheers man

How fast are the pitches?

The only issue there is with the Atlas is that is so hot any pitch that comes up is hittable even sliders, curvs, so it could cause alot of bloopers if you are not very selective on which pitches to hit. Fastballs just gets hit hard.

Amazing how many players at Rawlings colleges are swinging the new 5150 (the red one) instead of the Icon. The UVA team, for example, doesn't feature a single Rawlings Icon, from what I've seen in post-season play. Why aren't elite college players opting for the Icon?

Yo that is UNFORTUNATE. The vibration dampener tech is nearly perfect with the exception of that ONE thing, that it keeps coming off. I would redesign it to avoid those problems. The reason for all the snaps happen there is because of the way it reduces vibration. When the bat vibrates on contact, that mechanism vibrates in the exact opposite direction at the same speed (frequency), almost like it's out of phase. This negates the vibration at that spot. It's similar to marucci's tech and likely uses the same mechanics. Easton was the first to pioneer this tech with what i call the wiggly willy. LS tried it with their late 90s Sting Stop tech, but the true king of anti vibration tech was Albin Athletics in Louisiana. They made besr bats but were bought out in 2011 by Marucci, who uses variations of this tech to this day and is why their vibration tech is so advanced. You try out an albin athletics besr bat and you'll see it feels very similar to a the early Cat series of bats. A shame that the creator of it was turned down by the major companies to use his technology. What a waste that the technology was limited to one company when we all could've had it The issue is that this active vibration constantly bangs against the inside of the bat either knocking itself loose or creating fractures in the bat that eventually snap. The marucci tech avoids this by being placed in the knob, but it isn't as effective. I would like to work out some redesigns of my own for this
