My daughter plays college D1 softball. The mizuno carbon 1 will smoke the ghost and half the price… ghost do have durability issues at the big girl level but that carbon doesn’t. School switched to carbons this year and noticeable increases in hr and average.

Agreed. The Ghost has to be one of the most fragile models ever made. Yea, you get it hot right out of the wrapper but at the cost of it cracking like 40% of the time. My girls hit Xeno's and it took a few round of BP to get them broke in but once it was they were just as hot and way more durable.

As someone who played competitive fastpitch, mens... i played on larry millers travel team back in the day after college, our pitcher is the assistant head coach at the university of utah, we were always ranked in the top 10 in the world by nsa and asa... As well as someone who played some slow pitch after college as well, i mean theres no question the softball bats are hotter, although the balls are so much bigger and softer they kinda have to be, but in my day i always felt like fast pitch bats were built similar to slow pitch pop wise, just lighter...

I remember hitting with one in little league BP. around 1995. Seemed to go very far. Very little vibration. Would be interesting to see you test one today; if there's any available.

As you can see in this video though, tee velocity doesn’t translate very well to exit velo of a baseball with incoming velocity. Essentially, the lighter bat will almost always win. Especially a longer bat will always win

Hello, I have a question. I’m playing high school ball right now and have three bats. I am 6’ tall, weigh 145, with 15% body fat. I have a True Temper HZRDUS (32.5,” paid full price), Mizuno Hot Metal (33,” $50), and Rawlings 5150 (34,” $50). I did not know that they were all end-loaded at the time of purchase. When I played in a rec league, I was batting .660s. Right now, I am batting .91 in 11 ABs. Could these bats be why I’m doing so poorly? If so, what is a good balanced bat and what length should I get. I have 20/20 vision, and can read the ball very well. Off the tee my swing is stellar, but against live pitching or BP, it’s not so good.

To be completely fair. Everything about even for their respective ball. Softballs are mush compared to baseballs and have a little more air resistance thus needing the bat to be hotter. But you can also use that air resistance to your advantage. So i say their all even

And this is why I made all my players wear masks in the infield when coaching fastpitch. 60ft base paths and those bats you got no time for reaction. I would like for him to put the 2014 FP Louisville slugger Xeno Purple/Black Composite in there and try it. It was the one year they made them with 2 hitting disc inside and it was insane how hot that bat was.

Appropriate test would be the bat paired with the appropriate ball to see how that equates. Is the technology designed to limit speed of play relevant. I’m positive a softball bat will hit a baseball much faster than a softball.
