A's fans don't deserve a single inch of that platform. They have neglected their team for years, not attended games, not bought merchandise, and only seem to show up when the team is already out the door and even then they act like petulant children throwing garbage, throwing tomatoes, and being ultra passive-aggressive by showing up in droves to games. They're like an abusive husband when his wife is about to leave him because those situations are never about actually being sorry for what they did-- it's just them freaking out at the idea of losing control. The Raiders left for similar reasons and, like them, I don't blame the As here.

A's fans don't have anything close to that level of compassion and are about as fair weather as it gets-- just like every other franchise in that area. The fans are absolutely the reason the team is leaving and their recent behavior only further validates the move.

Had you waited another week to release this, I'm sure the Mariners and Julio's recent absurdity would make a spot in this
@johnchedsey1306 Жыл бұрын
I go back to Seattle about once a year and make sure I catch a Mariners game. I got to see Julio's fakeout when he robbed the Padres guy of the sure home run. And then run all over outfield catching every fly ball in his zip code. The kid is incredible.

@@eltio2400 I believe I read Julio hit 17-22 over a few games, with extra base hits thrown in for good measure. Basically he's being a beast.

As a lapsed baseball fan, the drama and new generation of players this year have brought me back, baby!😂 Also, Ohtani can't make the same mistake as Mike Trout and stick around a mediocre franchise in his absolute prime.

I know it happens every year, but it just feels like players are getting injured a lot more often than they used to. So many teams lose 2-5 of their best players at the same time

They like 2 days ago he hit Jose caballero in the ankle after a homerun. My bet is that he’s just mad that he was a legit Cy Young contender and now he sucks. Ohtani's free agent contract is gonna be the craziest thing to ever hit an MLB team. He's gonna get paid like nobody's ever been paid, and that's assuming the team paying him is gonna be a playoff contender who's already spending on other pieces. Someones gonna be breaking the luxury tax record with the possibility of him getting injured ruining either part of his game and making him the worst albatross contract of all times. I hope the guy comes out as one of the best to ever play the game but man, what a dice roll that could turn out to be.
@sethroelke2311 Жыл бұрын
I think the funniest possible outcome is if he goes to an AL central team. At least he'd have good odds of making the playoffs without it feeling like he joined a superteam.
@grumbofps Жыл бұрын
Which is why I think he'll be a free agent likely into the next season if not longer. Name a team other than the Dodgers who have the payroll to pay him and are an immediate playoff contender. Yankees are a mess and will be for a while.

The fact that 2 of the best baseball players in history (not even an exaggeration) have wasted a majority of their careers on the same garbage team and have played in a combined 3 career playoff games (all by Trout in 2014 when he was 22 years old) - should be a crime against sports.
@josephmatthews7698 Жыл бұрын
Honestly sports would be so much better off if we abolished 'ownership' altogether in these not for profit sporting leagues. If you can, imagine how much better and more competitive sports would be if all of the profits went directly to the city. Your team wins the world series, all those profits go directly into your cities infrastructure, schools and emergency services instead of these Diva billionaires pockets. They make ue pay to build them brand new stadiums for the privilege of giving them our money for tickets then when they dry the city out through mismanagement and greed they threaten to pack up shop and play us against each other courting other cities. Imagine the mayor appointing teams general managers or even better citizens being able to vote them in and recall them when they stop managing. It would be amazing as there would be no incentive to ever suck and more money would mean helping the communities they represent. It would be help so much.
@rustyshackelford4224 Жыл бұрын
Wholeheartedly agreed. These sports teams should be owned entirely by the cities!
