Basecamp 2 - West coast of Anglesey adventure

In this Basecamp adventure we return to the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. Pitching up on Gorsgoch Farm CL on the western tip of Holy island, we spend three days hiking over 25 miles on the Welsh coast path. Exploring iconic historic sites such as the South Stack Lighthouse, North Stack Fog Signal Station, Holyhead Breakwater and also explore the hidden coves and beaches found along the coastal paths.

My two Cavalier King Charles, although soft and floppy and daft, used to go everywhere with me. The clean up afterwards, is something else -as you well know. Lol!

Lol! 😂 The closing shot capturing the driving off the pitch is a habit from wild camping. The golden unwritten rule when making videos of wild camping is capturing the ‘walking away’ from the pitch shot. This is to prove that there has been no trace left behind.

Another excellent vlog Nick and spectacular scenery very similar to the Galloway coast line in the southwest of Scotland. It’s only took you a couple of years to get the dog onto its own sleeping bag 😂. I’m off to Luss in a couple of weeks for a few days first outing this year. First of many got loads booked. Keep the vlogs coming mate they are superb 👍🏻

Have a great time. Luss is stunning. I would like to do a week there and fully explore Loch Lomand. Good tip on the Galloway coast as I’ve overlooked that area. I will check it out.

There are some nice CL’s around that Area. And aye get booked up at Luss for a week sometime great History around there and fantastic hiking Ben Lomond,The Cobbler (Ben Arthur) Ben More , The Arochar Alps, The Rest and be Thankful, Inveraray. Gorgeous scenery.

Thanks Alison. I film it all on my iPhone and a DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone. In addition I use a Sony ZV1 for the close up shots such as the hiking routes on my phone and serving up food etc.

Great start today 2023, One of the best Vlogs to date some really breathtaking views of a part of Anglesey I’ve not encountered - Having started to follow you was initially to see how / what your thoughts were of the BaseCamp2 as we were set on the purchase of a Mink having watched all your Vlogs you have inspired us to change our minds. We are similar in the fact we have Rab gear and Garmin Watches and like you I’m married with a dog in toe. The App you use for the walks is this just the OS Map or do you use something different? Look forward to many more throughout the year, well done 👍 keep up the good work.

Thanks Iain. I plan all my hikes on an app called Outdoor Active. I then download the GPX file and upload to Garmin Explore so I can follow my route on the watch.

Thanks Stephen. It’s an extra large duvet back which I purchase from eBay. They are a little flimsy so I buy them two or three at a time.
