by lyn You can see into their psyche? You assume their content,why, because they’re lying down? Not growling? Etc? When in reality, there comes a point where their spirit is simply broken. Their body language, actually reads the opposite of contentment! The father lion constantly looking around, mother lion taking the meat from prying eyes,which stems from mistrust,etc...Lions didn’t just one day appear in the wild..They are born/meant for the wild. Anything less, would NOT be contentment for ANY animal, especially, lion/tigers! You assuming as much, is why we have zoos & mistreatment of these majestic animals. “See, they are happy & content”..Pure Ignorance.😑😔

These beautiful and majestic animals need to be running in the wild hunting their own food, the cubs need to be playing with their 1/2 brothers and cousins so that when theyre older they can form a coalition and find their own territory one day. Also the mother is too heavy,yes I know she's breastfeeding but she's is fat. Check the lionnesses in the wild no way are they that heavy

Beautiful!! This lion is just gorgeous and that mean is amazing. He’s so patient with his cubs especially when they were all over him as he was checking out that piece of meat that mom came in and snuck away for herself 🤣🤣. That’s a good father ♥️

Never in my life have i seen something like this. Other male lions literally dont like cubs getting close to them. This male lion is most beautiful lion i have ever seen thank you so muchh for sharing God bless you.

All dads lion are more good, it’s power of fatherhood! My favourite part is at the minute 5:47 to 6:15, it’s like if the little cub says: “Mom, no shower please, I want to stay with daddy...” and she walks away. Haha Who thought the same?

Lovely lions & cubs. Cubs are more attached to their father. Even though mum wanted to take the cub, it refused & clinged to its father.

They must be very well fed because usually, if the male gets the meat he takes it for himself and won’t let the lionesses or the cubs eat until he’s done. Once I saw a video where the father guarded the carcass while the cubs ate. When a lioness approached the carcass the male chased her off. This male lion is a great, tolerant dad.

The big male did not mind the small cubs eating with him and then the female came, took possession of the meat morceau. The big male did not oppose or displayed any aggressive behavior. I must conclude that those lions are well fed in Basel Zoo.
