This version was the first song I ever heard from them, and it got me hooked. It’s sad they took this version off of streaming.

6 years later and this is still the superior version. It's a subtle difference compared to most demo/original to studio/deluxe versions but this is the first I heard, played the shit out of it, then when Spotify just replaces it with something slightly different and the original is not available, it makes me sad :(

+Goldd Well actually the engineer may have automated the EQ after the other elements come in to take out a bunch of low end to make room for the bass and kick. I wouldnt be surprised. Must say it sounds sick at the start :P

It's there in the mix, it actually sits really well. Heavily overdriven Hiwatt amp heads dual tracked. The engineer did a killer job with this album. That bass break as well!!!

Micah Meizlish man sam is doing everything nowadays. he's definitely gotten better with headroom on the last few records he's done, even the tssf record had some crazy good guitar tones compared to the earlier stuff

Some local friends of mine are working with Sam so I guess I'll see how that goes, but a lot of the stuff on RFC last year was with Will Yip and The Things We Think We're Missing had some of the best guitar tones I've heard in the last 3 years, but the TSSF record was super innovative and when those high mids kick in on the bridge of nerve it really feels like one of the fullest mixes I've heard lately
