Love the breakdown! Sounds like to be as successful a real estate investor as you learning how to be a handyman is important!

Thank you! And to answer your question. Yes and no. I started flipping houses to acquire capital in my earlier career. Didn’t have much money during that time, so I pretty much had to learn a lot of trades and do a lot of work myself back then, definitely learned a lot. Those skills come in super helpful these days, especially knowing what to do and how to cut down cost with contractors. And this property being at my own basement of my own house. Where I can pretty much work on it whenever I want. Plus already got all the tools being 10 steps away and I actually enjoy doing a lot of the work myself. It’s honestly very fun and enjoyable for me to do a lot of the work myself. So, can you become a successful real estate investor without knowing all these? Definitely. But it definitely helps if you know all these.

Ok that's helpful to know as an up and coming rental property investor myself! It may be hard to say but if you had to pick certain ones ahead of others, what would you say are 3 trades that're most helpful and cost effective to learn rather than using a contractor? I'm going to learn.@@GaryGaoOfficial

who is renting this out for over $2500 a month?
@GaryGaoOfficial20 күн бұрын
Honestly, nobody! Market rent is about 1200 a month, 1400 a month if I try to push it. However, if you watched the entire video, I did provide the screenshot of us grossing 30k with Airbnb in a year. I explained how and why too. Thanks for your feedback.
Doesn’t the bedroom require an egress window / exit by law?

You are absolutely right. I just added a window last month actually. Was trying to keep the cost low during the initial renovation. Thanks for the comment!
