BASEMENT Windows to Close to the Ceiling ? Here is 1 Way to Combat this Issue - Watch and Learn

In this video I will show you the process on how I trimmed out these windows in our recent basement renovation.

We didn’t like the look of the top casing being cut in half because it looked like the ceiling was chopping the top of the window off. So this is the solution that we came up with and I think it turned out great.

Great solution for basement windows. I've been trying to figure out what to do with mine as they are also very close to flush with the ceiling. None of them are the same distance from the ceiling though, so this idea should work well. Good idea with the story stick too!

what material are you using for the boxes and how did you hide the face edges of the ply’s. Since it doesn’t look solid material and its moisture driven area from frost and ice melt on the windows
