You always try to install fasteners into the mortar joints when possible, not into the block/brick face.

My husband and I installed all the kitchen cabinets ourselves. It was one of the easiest DIY projects we have done! Get the right tools, proper screws, and a couple of levels, and learn to use them. To install the uppers, we put a temporary cleat on the wall to support the weight of the cabinet while we put the screws in to attach it to the wall. Using this method it was way easier to put the uppers in first, so we didn't have to reach over the lowers .

I use Ikea rails. They attach to the wall, and then you hang the cabinets.

I love cabinet hacks!! Getting those things up there one handed while trying not to fall, slip, get it uneven, or break yourself is a heroic effort and not all of us have that kind of endurance 12 hrs a day. This is a perfect idea AND you can smack a level on the inside of the cabinet to get it right. Then you find out the ceiling isn't level and you cuss to yourself the whole.

Why bother with the laser at this point? Serious question

Since you’re actually handling the door itself, I would assume these aren’t covered in wet paint.

The BEST investment I have ever made in the paint world. They say it's for small jobs..... but that is bull shit. I have shot well over 50 gallons on the original pummp so far. I use the super high density Behr from Home Depot with no gun issues .... the paint, on the other hand, can be clumpy out of the can. Just get a dozen extra suction filters. Bottom line ...if you can paint well with a spray can ...the Graco is awesome. Worth every penny!!!

I use a tool called the 3rd hand and it does exactly this. I am a union finish carpenter and most of my jobs are installing cabinets. I notice multiple things about this video that concern me and my perfectionism. Upper cabinets always need an upper filler and you put this cabinet tight to the dropped ceiling. What happens if the wall isn’t plumb? Then the doors will open into the ceiling tiles. You can clearly see that the paint line was lower for just that reason. Unless you’re a professional in the field that you are posting videos on you probably shouldn’t be giving out any advice. I do like your reverse clamp system to hang upper cabinets but I just thought you might want to know about the things I mentioned. I’m not trying to discourage you or insult you in any way. I just wanted to let you know

If you have the option install the uppers before the base cabinets
@marcmescher233511 сағат бұрын
For new DIY’ers. This is a no. Hang the wall cabinets first, then place the base cabinets. Then you drop in the countertop and hang the backsplash. It’s easier to hang the wall cabinets if you’re not working over the base units and you don’t want to damage the countertops when you’re hanging the wall cabinets.

When you have the right tools for the job. The job is much easier. Well done. I installed a floating lower cabinet and built a template (out of wood) and just sat the cabinet on the template, similar idea.
