Well it took almost 7 years but I finally found a bench to replace my Rogue Fitness Adjustable 2.0. I've had a lot of benches over the years and no company has been able to deliver what Rogue had done... UNTIL NOW.

Hey Brandon. I actually had a 0-90° bench from Williams strength about 10 years ago. I had it for about 4 years than I wound up selling it. Here's why I sold it. I noticed that the bench where it attaches to the frame was a little loose one day. No big deal right? Just tighten it up. We'll I came to find out that the bench was actually connected to the frame with lag screws. Lag screws right into the wood. A type of "T" nut is what is normally used in this application as it is more durable. I was very disappointed in that design as it came loose a few more times. Lag screws dig into the wood and it loosens up. I sold the bench for this reason and purchased from a different manufacturer. This may not be the design on your bench, but it is something I think that people would want to know about.

I don't think this is the case with the newer WS benches. The main reason I went with the WS bench over Ghost was actually because of a video I saw of a fitness youtuber (BigBoy from strength cartel) using his new ghost bench and it was wobbling like crazy in the flat position. The same youtuber had a couple of videos on instagram of him using the williams strength signature bench at zoo culture (a gym in california) and the bench was very stable. I believe ghost has since fixed this issue but the reason I bring it up is because the same bench Brandon has here is the bench that was used in that commercial gym I mentioned. And if the commercial gym bench can take the abuse of hundreds of random people daily, I think it'll be more than good for home use.

I'll have to double check, but as the other poster mentioned, the stoutness was one of the reasons I bought it. I'll keep you all updated though!

That's good to hear, because other than the use of the lag screws, the WS bench I had was solid.

Great looking bench. William Stremgth makes outstanding equipment. Just started doing the same thing with my gym: going quality over quantity. I started with the DBs and bench. Went with the Powerblock commercial 90s and the Rogue Manta Ray bench. The 3” x 4” 7 gauge steel and the decline capability (sit-ups mainly) is what sold me on that bench.

Im not sure on that bench there though. it looks awesome but if you dont train with a partner it seems to be overkill and make it hard to move around and store.

It baffles me why these style of adjustable benches are so popular. I put a lot of research into buying an adjustable bench over ten years ago. The Body-Solid Heavy Duty Flat/Incline/Decline Bench GFID71 is one of the only benches with 90° inclined to decline. As far as versatility at a fraction of the price this Body Solid bench is much better.
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon 2 жыл бұрын
As with most things, it depends. I personally do not like the design of the body solid.

I just sold my commercial Body Solid adjustable bench last weekend. Weighed over a hundred pounds and served me well. Got a REP AB-3100 for $250. After two small adjustments, it's a fine bench for me at 60 years old.
@BJerrell
@BJerrell Жыл бұрын
This bench is miles ahead of body solids build quality. Most body solid benches also have 10" wide pads which is super thin. 12" is standard. This bench also has a wide pad 14" option. There's a reason why collegiate facilities are outfitted with equipment from companies like WS and not body solid.

@@gambonelaw It's so much sturdier than any of the other benches you're likely considering, that in itself makes it a better bench. Add on top of the fact that this is by far the most grippy material I've seen on any piece of equipment.I didn't cover it in the video but it also has pegs on the side so that it can be mounted in a WS rack. The numbers on the back incline correlate to which position it goes into. That being said, it's for a very small population of home gym owners and I wasn't looking to get just a basic bench (the Rogue Adjustable 2.0 I had was already on the expensive side at $800 shipped).

I believe list cost through WS w/logo is 1490 and EliteFTS is 1640 with their logo (and/or potentially yours). Depending on how fancy you're looking to get it may run more, or if you don't want a logo, it will prob be cheaper than what I've listed.

TBH for this one it was only the Ghost Adjustable. I already had the Rogue Adjustable 2.0 for the past 7 years and it's been by far the best. If I was looking to get something really good and keep costs down (within reason), I'd prob look at the Adjustable 3.0, REP AB5200, and the Griffen/Get RX'd versions.

So we have here a far less adjustable, adjustable bench. We have a far more clunky and less dynamic bench. But the sacrifice is for essentially, A rock of a bench. Stability is great but I don’t believe this justifies the setback plus the high cost. This would be better sold as JUST a flat bench, given that no one is gonna want to move this thing around to use the adjustable side of it. At a certain point I think it’s valid to criticize companies for charging an astronomical price for a relatively basic piece of equipment.
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon 2 жыл бұрын
It's not too difficult to move as I do it all the time in training and it fits my needs really well. I'd much rather a solid bench that does what it's supposed to very well vs a more dynamic one where I'd have to sacrifice.
