After a year of using, sometimes the gear will "overrun" when closing to grab the phone. You can hear the "tiak tiak tiak" sound of the gear. But it is still working. I had since changed to magnetic mount.

​@redeye1619 it is still a good phone mount. I may revert to the baseus one day. One issue I have with magnetic phone mount is that I had to pull the phone out to dismount, which I do not like as it will shift the ideal mount position every time I pull.

Do you have to press the button to open the mount every time you enter your car? My current phone holder is open by default so I just place my phone and it closes.

Pressed the button to release when I retrieve the phone and it remains open until the next time i place my phone.

I park my car mostly outdoors. Haven't got any issue with it running out of power so far

No it doesn't. It is just a holder
