Nice to see the modern changes, 30/40 years ago we never used pegs or tied the bungees to the poncho/basha. We bungeed the basha on all 4 corners to 4 trees and if possible usually used 1 or 2 bungees from the middle of the basha and raised that very slightly. The basha also was at knee height and no higher ( very low). Later years we added black elastic to the corners for more stretch. Watching this brought back some sleepless memories of 80’s kit and cold nights.

Good vid. Its really hard to find a youtube vid of the old school 80s 90s uk army poncho setup .in the 80s ACF I vaguely recall my excellent Colour Sergeant from Queens Regt teaching us the Bunjie method on 4 corners and another a rope or something for the centre part to tree branch creating the roof angle , I reckon it was 2ft high max. Moving forward 2023 I found your jungle knots video making a mental note of the hand knot distance ✋👍, and its worked a treat , sets up and down super quick. I now have a superlight poncho setup for lightweight Bikepacking , of 8 pegs , jungleknots 8 lengths , spare line , one carbon pole all for around 500g . Brilliant cheers ! 🙂👍

I went with the mtp basha , attached jungle knots and loose pegs. I'm in no rush. 👍🇬🇧

Another great informative video . Bought myself a Berghaus crusader for Xmas, now I want a basha. You’re costing me a fortune Bex, I think my wife may kill me😂😂. Keep up the good work

I watch your videos for the humour first, and tarps, bashes second.

cant stand using bungees ... had a couple whip me in the face, i will occasionally use a single bungee at the head end if setting up a quick shelter (normally in the plough point) .... bungees just seem too thick/heavy duty, ... recently i have been using 2mm micro cord (with wooden toggles) as my guylines,
