Alexis, Hi' ! I comment here to express my gratitude to you once again. I attempt to make a brief summary and focus what your efforts here represent for me my friend . Mainly at about 75% I find therapy in your efforts with the balance being wool blankets , owls , and a sense of closeness with the Earth. In a most respectful way also a study of your hands , your hands and your dexterity in using them , is like that of a physician . Your approach to caution and safety mindfulness to handle sharp tools with care while alone in the wilderness brings a sense of security in the viewing experience also. `LIKED'

I stayed out in my woods behind my home one night and while the fire crackled as I lay there starting up, I was mesmerized by the orange yellow glow of the fire making shadows dance on the tree canopy and a large Great Horned Owl flew directly over me and it cast a huge shadow from the fire on the under canopy of the trees as I lay there in awe, truly awesome experience.

It's funny to think about how whenever a youtuber wakes up at a camp site and says good morning to the camera, they actually already woke up, turned the camera on, went back to bed, then pretended to wake up again for the camera. Always gets me. With that said, cool video. I like the waxed cotton idea. I've noticed myself using way too many ziplock bags as of late. I think I'll give that a try.

Hope he is well too. Been following him since he was a pup too. Had to shorten my woods excursion last weekend, whacked my hand with a Silky Saw so it's on the mend now. Traditional Scottish plaid was 5 yards long and 5 feet wide. It was clothing, blanket and shelter all wrapped up in one. The modern day brogue copies in pattern the original shoes that had holes to facilitate drying as we have bogs, streams and rivers to navigate on the most simplest of walks.

Really enjoyed watching your adventure. All actually. Reminds me of the hundreds of nights I used my shelter half as a low lean too. Used my poncho with liner instead of humping an intermediate bag you couldn't lie in. You'd sweat so much. You had something we never had. Fire, lol. We had little winged stoves that held a heat tab or I'd use a small piece of C4 and light that to heat my C's. Sorry for the rant. I thought it was cool comparing. I was off from comments for awhile. Was deathly ill. My Drs at the Vets Hospital saved my life. Not understating. Ty for sharing De Oppressor Liber

Almost ten years ago, I hiked the Caps Trail up to Mt. Jefferson in early May, after the snowmelt, and the moose-dung was everywhere, after the melt; you could hardly go thirty feet without seeing more. Two weeks later, I hiked again with another buddy, and told him how much moose-dung we would see, and we saw none. I guess the bears had come in and eaten it all; I guess that's part of the ecology. I get back to New England once annually (missed 2020 to Covid restrictions), and I always enjoy your posts, because they remind me of getting back there (I'm in western PA now, and mostly hike here). Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us.

Great to see someone wearing leather boots that can put the fire out properly by crushing the burning remains of the logs, rather than synthetic sneakers that melt. The wool blanket also allowed her to sleep close to the fire without having to worry about embers. Wool also diffuses carbon monoxide when the fire dies down, rather than getting trapped inside.
