Bob Linder played for QLD?!?!? Why did he have a NSW jersey on? He used to work with my Dad in the 80’s. I remember walking into his office for an autograph! He was very cool.

Wow! Wondered what on Earth I stumbled on here until I read the description. NEVER heard of this match before. 1987 sure was an "experimental" year (with the "fourth" State of Origin game that year in Long Beach, California).

This was supposed to be the big decider for halback between Laurie Spina and Alan Langer. Spina was better on the night but the Selectors made a brave and great decision to pick Alfie Langer for his origin debut.

9:30 turned out there were 2 further changes to that side, McIndoe was injured and replaced by Tony Currie and I assume French was also injured and replaced by Gary Smith in his only Origin appearance.

Do you have the full team lists for this? From this clip, From NSW, I can't figure out numbers 2, 9 & 11 (I assume McIndoe or Shearer, Vautin & Bella respectively). From Qld I can't figure out 3, 8 & 9 (I assume Grogan at 3 and then have a total guess and say either Gavin Allen or Peter Gill at 8 and Brett LeMan at 9). I think Keith Neller is no. 17 for Qld but not entirely sure. Would love to see the full match if you have it..'87 was a great year!
