Our names are one of the first impressions we make in the world. They can represent a personal story, reflect our personality, or carry a family member’s legacy. Historically, BIPOC ancestral names were stripped away and lost through assimilation, colonization, and enslavement. This week, our guests will discuss the racial implications behind diminishing our honorifics, and explore the power of names.
Joining our panel: Marita Rivero, Principal of Rivero Partners, Susan X Jane, Principal at Navigators Consulting, L'Merchie Frazier, Director of Education for the Museum of African American History - Boston and Nantucket, and Jean-Luc Pierite, President of the North American Indian Center Of Boston.
