No it won't. In most cases, it's necessary for contouring purposes. That dart is added to help the back lay flat on the back. If you google dresses with a wavy “bulging” back at the zipper area, that is why. When you do a fitting, or measure from the neck point to waist at the back, you will know if you need to add the dart adjustment or not.

Hi sis, thanks for the tutorial, my question is for some of us on a big side, while drafting the back block after taking the dart are you saying we would have to divide our waist by 2 and then add the dart allowance or we divide by 4 too. Sorry am a little bit confused.

You can divide your waist by 4 if your tummy is not very big, but if your tummy is big, you can divide the waist into two,then remove 1inch from the back and add to the front measurement. Hope you're cleared?
