In this sewing video, I am showing you the pretty top I made out of 1 metre of double gauze fabric. I have never been so restricted in my fabric choice but it was such a fun challenge and I love what I created. It has opened my eyes to be less wasteful and much more considerate of waste when working with fabric.

I love your blouse. It's gorgeous! I really do hope you can use that as your next pattern release. It really does look like it used more than one metre of fabric. I think it should be called Maisy. I don't know why just looks like a Maisy to me. It's an old fashioned name but unique and sort of modern as well, and your top is really unique, slightly old fashioned, yet totally current and modern. I haven't seen another pattern anything like it. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I think the darts on the back add to the shaping as well. It looks like it is really comfortable on the back, yet not baggy because of those darts. It holds the neckline in better at the back than a straight, smaller cut would have. So there wouldn't be any gaping like there tends to be on some patterns.

Love the top and look forward to seeing it made in other fabrics. I like the name Maude for this one. The tiny ruffle works really well and I pinched this idea to use on my Poppy pinafore as I didn’t have enough fabric. The skirt pieces are half length, so I am hoping it will look ok.
