Love your reaction so much. I agree, I think it’s really commendable that they decided to release something like this, it was truly unexpected, we were all thinking we were gonna get another bop but instead we got this beautiful display of artistry and emotion. The lyrics are very personal and really speak about the hate & criticism they’ve been receiving, which in an industry like kpop where reputation and a perfect image matters so much, to admit & address these things must be so vulnerable. I also love how kind this song is, it truly speaks from a perspective of forgiveness, the way they choose to embrace all the different opinions about them and make peace with them instead of wasting their time fighting them is very mature actually. It takes some introspection to do that and although the girls did not write these particular lyrics, they did say that they do relate greatly to the song because it was crafted for them. I think this is the definition of a perfect pre-release because it leaves you wanting more. They took a risk that expended their discography further, which says a lot because IVE is kinda known for always doing something different with their title tracks, and this is VERY different. I’m very happy with this release, ballads are not usually my thing, but this being a synth pop ballad was perfect for me to fall inlove with it. I rate it a 9.5 which is excellent in my book. I didn’t know about your channel but I will definitely check your other IVE reactions now! Thank you!
