I actually think that jyp asked mmm if they wanted to collab with him and I think mmm were honored about it because he is well respected in the industry and instead of choosing someone from his own company he chose them and I think otherwise they would not have gotten as much time on stage to be honest. So while I would have preferred them having just a solo stage or a collaboration with someone else I am thankful that at least they had a good amount of stage time. Hwasa intended to look like joker, she even included the stairs moment from the new joker movie ( when she kicks the air and the music changes a bit). When it comes to the backing track I personally also prefer it when it is a bit lower so you can always hear their voices, but still their mics were clearly on, because sometimes you can hear them quite good, hwasas ad lips and you can hear them breath heavily after they performed HIP

From what I've seen apparently JYP was the one who asked to collab. Idk why but for me it made me feel proud of the girls 💕 Hwasa was actually rejected from JYP entertainment as a trainee and now she's collabed with the former CEO of JYP ☺️

Rejection from companies often have nothing to do with what the company thinks of an artist. Sometimes it's simply because that person doesn't fit the concept for the group the company wants to make. I think we can all agree Hwasa wouldn't really fit in Twice lol. We'll never really know the reason unless JYP says it publicly I guess. That being said, JYP showed a lot of respect for Mamamoo ever since their debut, he's no dumbass, he recognize talent, but as the CEO of a big company he can't just go out there saying he's a fan of a "competitor". Doing a collab like this is his way of saying it, he wouldn't collab with artists he's not a fan of. JYP is just a closet Moomoo :3

@@boldwulf879 me too ! they nailed it with JYP song medley that episode and you could see him falling for the girls' stage presence and charms and Hwasa going viral with the plastic outfit was just the best excuse for this collab stage ! I loved how the girls felt so relaxed and had fun on his show and i hope he does an other season

I'm glad you know the background to MMA (tho there's more tea to it haha): How MMA snubbed Mamamoo: only group to not get interviewed on red carpet, Mamamoo as a group and Hwasa as a soloist were voted top 3 for bosang but weren't announced as such, we're 99% sure they cut Mamamoo's stage last minute since their outfits were set up for HIP and Mamamoo referenced HIP at the end, Hwasa's stage literally had a line cut out, they were cut out of the ending recap video, Reason: unknown, but likely MMM from a small company, one of the larger companies wanted more time so they cut from Mamamoo and told them last min. Mamamoo was super pissed off and clapped back: Solar signed a car door instead of the window and wrote the group's name in large font, they were literally yelling out the lines and you can see it on their faces, "aint no love in this party" (pretty clear lol), Hwasa posed at the end of Twit with two guys spelling "PD" referencing producer while calling him a Twit, their choreographer posted a pic with her shirt saying "TWIT" and caption as "MMA," Byul started posting on Instagram before the show was even over lol, Hwasa sprayed the camera, they left spray paint on the floor lol, left right after their performance, the end dialogue was literally "how is it today" "cut cut cut, we have to cut it" there's probably more I missed that that's the main tea, enjoy

The backtrack is usually louder on TV compared to the live performance but you can still hear their voices here... Mamamoo were invited few years back in JYP's Party People (show)...JYP knows that they have the same vibe as him..both artists loves to interact with their audiences while they perform. I think it’s hard for groups to collab with Mamamoo cos their vocals have to be as good and they don’t share the same stage presence. Most groups either do sexy pop or cute concepts and don’t vary or try different ones as much as Mamamoo. Mamamoo also has a great blend, stage performance presence and vocal quality that I feel if some groups collaborated with them, Mamamoo would definitely outshine them on stage. That might open up opportunities to compare and compete with each other. So maybe they had to pair them up with someone who can really vibe with them AND pull off the same charisma, vocals and vibe? I think this was a great collab! They definitely served something different from other groups and are finally being recognised

Yet a lot of people want to collab with them, some even go to great lengths to do so, as Kei (Lovelyz) had brought Kimlap during the Queendom Episode in which members from each would split into Vocal Unit & Dance Unit & she brought it FOR Hye Jin, for ONLY Hye Jin, & for Hye Jin to eat alone (Kei even stated that it was only for her & all hers, she declined sharing it after Hye offered). She did that with the SOLE intention of getting Hye Jin to choose her to be partners. What's funny about the Unit Round, was that Lia Kim [Choreographer for HIP] was the Choreographer to help the Dance Unit work on their routines. Byul would tell Lia that she didn't want to do hip, which at the time, majority presumed that she meant "hip" as in the style of dance, but hindsight, Byul could've been referring to not wanting to do anything that would be part of the Choreography for their song "HIP".

What I like is that JYP after all the disrespect Mamamoo had ended up bringing them on for his performances and had a bunch of collabs on stage with them even though they aren't his group. Just makes me respect JYP even more. Also Hwa'sa's outfit when she's wearing all vinyl/plastic is a reference to JYP when he started out. He wore "plastic pants" like that because the industry heavily censored people that didn't fit their ideal.

Mamamoo are legendary when it comes to award show performances. They absolutely cannot do one of these shows without throwing in a bunch of ad libs and filling it full of their incredible charisma and personality. All members of Blackpink cant reach that voice level because they werent just born with it, you can train it but most likely you'll end up like most girl groups singing level. As i said i consider them performers and thats it, and if you talking about their rap, sorry again, they dont have bars or wit to throw good lines, its more conservative.
