Criminal, Black Rose, 2 Kids from Act 1, all so, so underrated now that Idea's really blown up. Technically Heaven isn't 'new' since he's performed it but that, Pansy, Be Your Enemy are my favourites from Act 2. he's exceeded all expectations and continues to get better.

All of the songs mentioned here in the comments deserve your attention: Black Rose, Heaven (MAMA 2020), Nemo, Be Your Enemy, Criminal, as well as Under Your Skin, Day and Night, Slave, plus all of SHINee's new album, Don't Call Me, and their classics, of course. If you want to know more about Taemin's art, he has a Commentary on Criminal as well as a Lecture on Act 2: IDEA, which are part of his evolution as an artist and being. (So there is a narrative he is articulating in this work.) Also, there are some good interviews out there that include remarks of lyricists and composers who describe how Taemin collaborated with them by bringing more depth and colors to their music through his interpretations. Just a reminder that Taemin and SHINee are always better in live performances.

This entire album is a MASTERPIECE! You really need to react to the dance practice for this...it's INSANE! Taemin's fluidity and subtle popping is at an all time high. This is the continuation of Act 1's "Criminal" with the rebirth/resurrection of Taemin with a new Ego. In case you didn't know, Taemin is a DEEP thinker. The concept for this song & Act 2 is....wait for it....Plato's philosophical Theory of Forms, hence the Greek pronunciation of the word "Idea". It's yet another unorthodox concept like "Criminal's" concept of Stockholm syndrome. What makes Taemin, TAEMIN? Can he achieve perfection? The present ego thinks he's the one who can achieve perfection without any outside influence; no need for a new ego. The newly-emerging ego thinks maybe perfection on his own can't be achieved without the help of a greater power outside himself (part of Plato's Forms Theory). This realization creates even more conflict. As a devout Catholic, this theory fits in perfectly with his worldview. So with "IDEA" you have the climactic battle between the two competing egos inside Taemin's head. In the end, Taemin's new ego breaks out of that prison (Hell) in his mind to take over. The old IDEA of Taemin is killed and shaken off, and a new, enlightened IDEA of Taemin (Heaven) has begun. This is perfectly illustrated through the lyrics and the imagery of the MV. As you can see, Taemin is VERY experimental with his music and is not afraid to try new things and sounds. Like SHINee, he slides effortlessly between genres and has now, with 13 years of experience and at only 27, created his own genre, TPOP (Taemin Pop). As a film and music major, he's intensely involved in each and every aspect of his music down to the nitty, gritty details: writing lyrics, set design, costumes, make-up, styling, choreographies, music production, co-directing, etc.....especially with this last album, "Never Gonna Dance Again." In addition, his live stages are the most innovative ever seen, from dancing bound in straps, in cages, and actually dancing on a 45-degree angled stage. No one does it like Taemin. I really appreciate the nice intro you gave Taemin there before the reaction. :) Idea took a little while for me to warm up to bc his title tracks have been SO good (and i'm still partial to Criminal), but choreography wise, it's on another level. I ended up liking Act 2 more than Act 1 as well. ps: I think it'd be interesting if he could watch something like Move and Criminal.

I agree as well. Drip Drop was even more "in your face" type. However, IDEA choreo is much more complex than most of his previous choreos. Bottom line is that those who are familiar with Taemin's work will not be surprised to see him go this hard in IDEA.

I think you should react to 2KIDS first, then CRIMINAL, and then IDEA at the end because that's how NGDA was created. You missed a lot and that's why you were surprised. I know everyone has their own views on this; here’s mine 🤯 I dont even know where to begin with my thoughts, so much going on in the MV opens up of him meeting with himself in jail, so many scene changes, dooming us by having BOA saying “Killing Me Softly” 👻 and Don’t even get me started on their fashion like he giving us Crop Top Taemin including covering his TATTOO with a bandage 👀 It seems like a continuous of his ACT 1: “Criminal” album after he gets caught and bails out then shows up in a famous designers’ casino cafè (Sokcho City) in the meantime shown singing & dancing in heaven and hell (Angel & Demon) probably reference of being reborn and I wont be surprised if Koharu Sugawara had a hand in the choreography. Also, the arm move he does reminds me so much of his vibrating arm move he did in “FAMOUS” but it’s straight line in this MV. THIS ISNT KPOP, ITS T-POP (Taemin Pop) #TAEMIN_IDEA #SHINee #SUPERM After so long of waiting which felt like forever our guys SHINee are finally back as a group; ONEW KEY, MINHO AND OUR BOY TAEMIN IS BACK TO BEING THE ABORABLE MAKNAE AMONG HIS HYUNGS 😁
