Taemin is the youngest member of 2nd gen kpop group Shinee! Aka the "Princes of Kpop". Taemin is also known as " the idol's idol" His level of artistry is just amazing and a large number of idols have cited him as their inspiration or role model. Taemin has been in the industry since 2008 (he debuted at just 14) and is also known to be one of the best dancers in kpop. I also love his voice, despite him not getting many lines in early shinee sings he worked so hard to improve himself. I also think Taemin had the best stage presence in kpop, he's completely controls the stage and immerses himself in his performance and role. He takes his art seriously but is also just so cute and humble off stage. Its impossible not to love Lee Taemin ❤

My, my, my! You are about to embark on the perilous journey of the SHINee rabbit hole. WELCOME to SHINee World and their "odorable", yet evil genius maknae, Taemin. You will not find any other idol to even come close to him. He's unique and has been greatly missed since he left for the military. Thankfully, he will be back in early April to rejoin his SHINee brothers for their 15th Anniversary, new SHINee album, and new Taemin album. Known as the kindest idol in Kpop, Taemin has the nickname of being tofu with a core of iron. He's a total beast on stage and is known to practice 17-18 hours a day. Taemin never had any formal dance training. He's what's termed a "natural" dancer. He stated that he became interested in dancing when he was 10 (intl. age) from watching his favs (MJ, Usher, Rain, etc.). He would go to his room and practice his favorite moves in front of his mirror and adding his own flare. At 11, he auditioned with SM through their notoriously difficult Saturday open auditions. Only 8 idols have ever been chosen from those auditions. Taemin was one of them. At that young age, he was already a popping/locking & isolations pro. Now, he's a master at just about any dance you throw at him and is widely known within the industry as the best dancer in Kpop. He wanted to be a singer so he stayed up every night, sneaked into the practice room, and started singing until his voice gave out. When that happened, he would start dancing until his legs got too tired, and returned to singing....and the cycle kept going until the wee hours of the morning. He said he would get nosebleeds every day from working so hard and staying up all the time, to the point he would sometimes fall asleep during group practices. However, all his hard work paid off in spades. In 2014, Taemin became the very first SM soloist from an active group. He was so successful, he was dubbed the ACE of SM. He has also debuted three times in three different generations of Kpop, and is a million dollar + seller as a soloist. He is currently a member of SHINee, a soloist, and a member of SuperM. His solo concerts are an out-of-this-world experience filled with his creative innovations such as dancing and singing live while bound in straps and performing on his custom-designed slanted stage which can slant up to a 45-degree angle. Taemin is called a King for a reason. He’s gonna be out of military in exactly 37 days and he’s gonna release a new album this year, it’s already confirmed. You were actually pretty close with your understanding of the lyrics. The whole concept is based on Greek philosopher Plato’s theory of forms and by IDEA (pronounced by him in Greek not in English) he refers to the ideal form/image of himself - the one that is practically unattainable hence it’s “killing him softly”… Taemin is a super intelligent, creative and interesting artist (and person). You should absolutely check out Advice and later on Criminal, Want and Move. For me personally he is the best that Kpop industry has ever had to offer. You guys are so right, Taemin breathes creativity. He’s an incredible all rounder artist. His beautiful vocals get overshadowed by his amazing dancing, when he’s on stage he captivates you by his performances, his unique artistry is seen and felt in his music, dancing, mvs, and lyrics. So, this is actually a trilogy. The prologue is “2 Kids”, but the trilogy itself is “Criminal”, “IDEA”, then “Advice”. All the songs have multiple layers of meanings, but the underlying message and theme is Taemin’s internal struggle between idol-Taemin and IRL-Taemin. “Criminal” touches on Stockholm Syndrome…being a willing captive to his idol persona. “IDEA” deals with Plato’s Theory of Idea: Form vs Identity…fighting to merge into one true self rather than two halves. “Advice” is basically his mic drop to the industry that has tried to conform him into their perfect idea of an idol, telling them to take his own advice and not push him around, that he’s going to stay true to himself. He’ll get tattoos if he wants (“destroying” his torso) - which is why he finally revealed his beautiful hip tattoo…the smeared makeup…androgynous clothing/hair…female backup dancers. No matter what, he’s going to do what he wants and the more they try to stop him, the faster he’ll shut them down. Of course Taemin can dance he's known to be the dancing King in kpop and to be the MJ of Korea. He's well respected and a model for most of the artist and idols who love to dance. He's creative, his solo are always so good. And he's such a kind heart and puppy in real life. He's the youngest in his Groupe name "Shinee" who are always respected by the all industry cause they're known to be the Pilar, heart and Prince of kpop. Most of the thing that you see now in kpop it Shinee who've start it (it's a fact not what fan says) with some few groupe of 2nd Gen but Shinee have start almost everything you love now in New groupes. The first hard dance choreo and moves, the originality in clothing, hair style, performance and much more. To really say you're fan of kpop you have to Know Shinee (even if their music is not your style) you just need to know who they are.
