Hi Entity, upon that you recently received your Bolex or you've had it at least two years with and it's never had a CLA aka Cleaned Lubed and Adjustment then it's highly recommend to send it to a knowledgeable service technician for servicing. Otherwise, it could get a film jam, start operating slow at anytime. Especially when cold weather starts. Because the old lubricants within have been collecting dust dirt and tiny film particles from being packed away in a closet from who ever had it before. You're very welcome. And thanks for watching.

@@paulmorbid1476 well the issue is theres no repair places here and id like to not ship it in the mail cause for 1 it could get lost or damaged and 2 its not currently feasable with shipping costs here however i am trying to find a schematic or a vid to clean it and relube the parts without having gears or springs fly out everywhere Still though i will keep that in mind if i do happen to find a repair shop

@@paulmorbid1476 definitely not ive made a mistake before by using wd-40 on a cheap XL model camera (tbf it wasn't that good to begin with) and it melted the gears so like you said in your vids use a rifle lubricant or something similar

1St thing is make sure to send that Bolex to a technician near you for a new full CLA aka Cleaned Lubed and Adjustment. Otherwise, there's a high risk of the camera lock-up during filming. Don't attempt it yourself. The biggest issue would be rushed, corrosion inside therefore the screws being very difficult to remove. All the old lubricants within must be removed, parts cleaned, then new graphite grease applied. Unless the seller has provided you with proof then a new CLA is a must. A Bolex isn't a camera to just pick -up and film with otherwise. There are videos on my channel concerning light leaks and I'll do what's possible to send you those links. However, much of it has to do with a new CLA such as light seals that must be applied with a brush when reassembling the Bolex. Tip: 1.test your Bolex but 1St set the fps aka (frames per second) at 24 or less. Never test a Bolex (without film loaded) in it over 24 fps as not to damage it's spring motor. 2. Never pack a Bolex away with it's motor wound. This can damage it's spring by putting stress on the spring and other parts.
