The travelling wave diagram shown at 2:51 on the left lower side is not showing what the looped diagram is showing on the right hand lower side, the phase shift between the E/M wave is not the same, Please look carefully. Many people show the diagram on the left-hand lower side at 2:51. The travelling pulsating Electromagnetic field diagram shown at 2:51 on the lower left hand side is wrong and many books and authors show this diagram, This is a translating pulsating polarised electromagnetic field and so the rate of change is contained in the magnitude and not in the rotation!!!! It makes all the difference. Note the Electrical field and the magnetic field are in time phase and this cannot be as each field is the RATE OF CHANGE OF THE OTHER as Maxwell's equation say E= -- db/dt and B=kdE/dt. Also that diagram at 2:5 means that the TOTAL Power Poynting vector is not a constant and reaches zero twice in every period, The Total power of an electromagnetic translating wave is never zero as it is exchanging from the electrical to the magnetic field every half period , all this is not shown by that diagram at 2:51. Also the Maximum Curls and rate of change of each wave is not shown to exist at the same time as the maximum magnitude of each field, Many books how this diagram and I believe we should discuss this issue. Many people make a big mistake of using a rotating field diagram rather than a translating pulsating field diagram, What is shown in the diagram is a translating field and so the rate of change is in the translating pulsating and not in the rotation. I never use that diagram and have done so in the last 80 years, My lecturers at University were always ready to listen and they appreciated my thoughts. Once again, all Electromagnetic waves translate and not rotate and even in a circularly polarised each vector keeps its space orientation as the transmitter allotted to it, Many people show a circularly polarised wave rotating as a " Block helix" when it is only a "block helix being pushed along the propagating direction" but it is not continuously rotating, Polarising is one property , rotating at an antenna is another property , while translating is another property. Their different rate of change in space and time is interesting. Also many authors rotate their diagrams which is Me^jwt but a pulsating translating is flat and M( e^jwt + e^--jwt) when dealing with rotating and pulsating and polarised waves one should be careful how to draw the diagrams, I do feel that many authors should get together and discuss this old sketch of E/M waves showing the pulsating Poynting vector!! when the total power in an E/M wave is constant. There is a pi/2 angle missing somewhere, and I believe I know where it is! The interesting part is that the a diagram shown on the lower left hand with E/M loops at 2:51 is correct and it is NOT showing what the other South East diagram shows, Please look at the position of the Magnetic loop on both diagrams one is in phase and the other diaram it is not. , Many Books should modify that diagram shown on the lower left hand corner. at 1:20. Also what the diagram shows does not agree with the contents of what you wrote, CurlE= --dB/dt as far as phase angle is concerned. This should be a discussion point at many universities. Congratulations on your good work, do please consider my thought about this E/M diagram about which I became conscious over 70 years ago! At 1:20 this video show three relations where one does not agree with the two other correct one, which keep the Poynting Power Vector constant! Also at 2:01, upper left hand the E/M two loops oscillate OUT OF PHASE and in both directions as it is the changing in direction that causes radiation to the other loops. What you showed is a DC "current/filed " which does not have a rate of change! Your depicted diagrams do not agree with what you wrote and described so well in mathematical models! !
