Andre .... nice video, showing your maintenance regimen. I pretty much do as you highlighted with only a little variation....... I do "pre-flight checks" and "post-ride clean-down/checks" ..... Before riding....... everything you said about fixture tightness checks; tyre pressure setting according to terrain use that day ..... battery top-up charge followed by a lift-spin-check . Post ride, I clean down ......whether a 'wet-ride' or a 'dry ride' - I rinse down from top to bottom (with a light water spray on a garden hose ( with the wheel in an upright stand - for drainage). I then use an air-gun from my compressor to blow off the water still hanging on the wheel - paying particular attention to directing air into the slider channels , blowing down from the top -- I use a short length of flexible plastic tube to reach to the top part of the slider channels. I do this water-wash every time, as we live so close to the coast here in The Algarve that wet or dry, there is salt everywhere - especially when I trail ride the salt-pans. Once dry, I completely invert my wheel and shoot plenty of WD40 down each slider channel and quickly upright the wheel again for excess oil to drain out. After that, a spray with water repellent helps keep water out - but as a fair-weather-only rider it rarely gets wet when riding -standing puddles being the only exception. A long comment ---- but you did ask!! Rick

Awesome thanks Rick, that wd40 is a good plan in the channels so I will check this out. But thanks for the comment and as you say some basic checks help a lot. Keep well.

Lithium grease on the foot plate pins, Oxford Mint Dry Lube on the Air-Shock and sliders, 3 in 1 on springs and other pivots etc, I clean the machine with damp cloths, towels, sometimes dragging them through the wheel well, never lean the machine on its side when you have been out in the wet. When I do any maintenance invariably I will check accessible bolts with an Allen key,- any judder, strange behaviour and I would be on them all,. Regular checks of tyre pressure (29psi - wobbles with more, and risks to rim below, depending on what you are doing) - before any ride. I have expectations of range on a charge and time to charge to keep an eye on battery health, I also charge to 100% for battery leveling purposes if I haven't ridden a particular machine for a while. 3D printed handles front and rear for the Master not only for convenience but I consider them sacrificial in a bad fall. I have slime in the 16x, not in the S18 or the Master, though I have some for that purpose - (undecided - along with a road tyre). Not exactly maintenance but I don't like grip tape, a bit of mud they get very slippery, I have put Nylonove on the 16X and the S18. Funny thing on the Kingsongs you have to switch them on, then off again, after charging otherwise the wheel is consuming current. I never charge unattended and I have built a unit to give me far more information relating to the charge. I use a tether on the Master because I'm frighten of the thing going off on its own after a fall, particularly down steep declines, if a tether hasn't toppled it it could potential go of and do a lot of damage to itself and others,. The tether is there to topple the wheel, not to keep me attached to it - it's not that strong. I only use the tether with the Master because of the weight and speed.

Many thanks for the great comments and this will help other riders too. You have a great range of wheels and I do hope you get some time to ride them in between the wetish weather we have been having. Keep well and keep them rolling.

I slime my tubes, no point in risking a flat either in city or on trails. I used too much so now my automatic tire inflators dont work right, but other than that it's held up great. I will try armor dilloz when i switch tubes/tires eventually.

Nice nice, I need to get some time and sort out some slime, I do have the bottle I just need to deflate, pump it in and then inflate. Thanks for the comment and keep well.

Not sure I'd call EUC maintenance easier than a bike - especially tire changes. I use slime because I live in the desert where there are many thorns, but don't use too much or it can clog the valve and create a leak out the valve. Compressed air seems like a good cleaning tool.

EUC has the potential to have a very easy tire switch. Unfortunately we're not there yet.

Yes the tyre change or fix is the only thing that is holding it back. But they again if you think of all the parts that needs tuning on an e-bike, chain, front and rear derailleur, shock front and rear, bottom bracket, brakes, brake pads, cables or batteries if you running wireless shifters, casset fron and rear, clipless pedals and seat. Oh and then if you run tubeless tyres or tubed tyres, leavers and pumps to seat the tyre.... all these things I dont have to think about or at least less when riding my EUC lol.

Awesome thanks for the feedback. Its amazing how little they need to run if you compare to all the other wheels out there.

Some feedback! It would be cool to break the video up into the sections of things you're talking about. This way i can skip to the things i haven't already considered. :)

Good plan and I will start looking at doing this going forward. I must say this one was on the way back from a ride and I thought it would be a good idea to cover off some maintenance parts. Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi! Im planning to buy another wheel after my S18. What do you think, the S22 pro 50S batteries or the Lynx? I see a 1000€ difference between them. Is it worth it? What you would buy now if you were coming fromS18? Thanks!
@Andre-Mostert

Ooh interesting, I think the Lynx for me is too much money. This is the same price as a small motorbike. What I would look at for my next wheel if I was to go from the S22 would be the Patton or the V14. Most of my riding is gravel and I need the stock off road tyre. The S22 gives me about 40 miles range then its out, if that is good for you then its a great upgrade. But from what I have seen is that the Patton and the V14's suspension is just more plush. The S22 has great travel but its not plush. Then there is the Begode Falcon soon to be launched with a off road tyre. This is also cheaper and might be a great wheel. But you need to think what you need, speed, comfort, price and weight. I wish that they would take the s18 and make it better as its such a great form factor. Just need more battery and off road tyre as stock. Hope this helps. Patton - get some nice side pads for the money you save from the lynx hehe Kingsong S19 Inmotion V14 Begode Falcon - worth a look Kingsong S22 Pro - solid great riding wheel. Keep well
