I’ve been fire for a couple years and it’s even too broken rn for me to manage optimally. If you make any mistake, your DPS dies and while learning content, it makes you a really weak link. Gonna bite the bullet and try frost even tho I said I never would lol

In all honesty I've been using SP when I'm in close proximity of trash groups and SP is off CD - better use it than wait for an absolutely perfect moment. A casual approach here 😉

Should you still flurry ice lance ice lance if flurry is off cooldown but you haven’t got the proc yet?

I'd flurry if you don't have a proc of "two snowflakes" that indicate that your ice lance will hit hard. Then to get the two snowflakes - I'd flurry. :)

I started playing frost mage from the beginning of season2 second week and I have 417ilvl. I am pretty sure that I am doing the rotation correctly but I will never get the best dps in the team. Generally speaking mages right now are trash and they depend on their gear a lot! I will keep playing frost mage as my main as Blizzard has made a large post regarding the state of Mages and upcoming design changes in Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5: Fractures in Time, including the removal of Rune of Power, new tree capstones, and more!

Agreed mate, Mages are very rarely at the top and it's kinda sad to see better geared and more skilled players overtaken EASILY by people playing something like a Ret Pally... But I find Frost a nice change of casual pace and actually enjoy playing it! But then - I don't push hard and play "for the process", not "to be the best". 🙄😉👌

Not a min-maxer here, I use time warp when raid leader calls for it (in LFR) and on the final boss if in a 5-man dungeon

I noticed in the game footage as well you don't seem to be using rune of power or icyveins much - that's a 40% damage boost and is #1 on any rotation in every situation for frost. Also icy veins is the most important thing to keep uptime on with frost. I think it's misleading when you say use icyveins during a boss fight, you need to use icyveins on cooldown and you're looking to have near constant uptime of it/rune of power during the dungeon - do not save icyveins to only be used on boss fights - also don't cast the empowered blizzard on single target. Best of luck - you won't have good or even average numbers without using those cooldowns correctly - hope this helps
