For trouble shooting, I carry a drill gun, a meter, some jumpers, a pocket thermometer, and a Leatherman, no tool pouch. In my pockets, I have a couple of nutdreivers for the drill gun, some wire nuts, a few self taping screws, and a pocket screw driver. You can trouble shoot 95% of service calls with that. And like you said, once you find out what is wrong with it, go get the part, and any other tool you need, which I just usually bring my $25 Home Depot tool pouch. I rather buy $200 worth of tools, than a $200 backpack!😀

Absolutely... On my heating calls, I carry the same but instead of a drill I use my 8 in 1. I'm lazy and when I talk to the customer on the phone, I get a pretty good idea what it is. Again, your meter is probably the most important
