I must disagree with the Knipex pliers, I definitely prefer the cobras, with the button. They’re much more adjustable and if you take care of your tools they never stick.

For the cordless screwdriver, I would recommend the not so well known but excellent "NoCry 10 N.m Cordless Electric Screwdriver - with 30 Screw Bits Set, Rechargeable 7.2 Volt Lithium Ion Battery and a Built-in LED Light". I love mine and it's the most powerful small cordless screwdriver out there, I love it.

Instead of using a kneeling pad just get a folding stool. Been using one for years. So much better then kneeling down to work on furnaces. So even come with storage in them.

Someone once asked me to borrow a “screwdriver”. Without asking him what kind, I just handed him my 11 in 1. To my dismay, he really didn’t want a screwdriver, he wanted a prybar to lift a raised floor tile. Needless to say, when the tool was returned, he handed it to me point up because he knew that the bit would now fall out. Once you try to pry anything with an 11 in 1, you knock the bit holder out of shape and nothing will “ click” into place. Now I have an 11 in 1 for parts . Had to buy a new one. Lesson learned.😩

I like malco 1/4 and 5/16 a lot, but there is 1 thing 1 don't like. the wall is too thick, I hope that they make smaller wall.

I agree! Luckily it doesn't seem to be a problem too often but the thick walls do get in the way.

if you want a thinner wall, chuck it up in a drill with one hand, and use an angle grinder with the other hand. and grind the wall thinner while simultaneously spinning the drill. spinning the drill in the same direction as the grinding wheel seems to feel a little smoother.

Knee pads are good but the main way that I keep the pressure off my knees is by using my Milwaukee shop vac as a stool to sit on. Works well enough and reduces time on my knees by like 90%.

The only non contact voltage I trust ( as a Spark. ) , is the Fluke . It has been spoofed by transients , but has never given me a false negative !

I know and agree what you are talking about regarding the 1/4" nut driver on the 11 in 1 Klein with its thin wall. I run into that issue often on the capacitor mounts. Very Good advise.

Just put tape on the door switch because when it stops working sometimes you can't see the flashing light thru the little glass and you have to remove the door if the switch isn't taped it kills the low voltage and you lose the code it was flashing so you have to let it time out and hope it flashes the code again

It’s not the best way, but you can get a customer by, by repair soldering a circuit board until the correct OEM board arrives. Its not a permanent fix, but it can, and will get you by.

I'd like to recommend a tool. I'm a fan of going hands free with my lighting option by using a headlamp when I am working. I have found that the Streamlight Bandit best suits my needs. It's a USB rechargeable headlamp that fits on the brim of a baseball cap.

Forget the skil drill, get a rigid palm impact, its smaller, its 12v and no trigger so it goes into very tight spots and it has the power to get and hvac screw out

Brilliant! the multi tools are great to get you out of a spot but you cant beat an apprentice with a tool bag and the right tools for the job to make life easiest. Multi tools have too much slack. But then so can an apprentice..

My meter has a built-in ac detector. Kobalt has a nice small ratcheting kit also. A rigid palm impact should be in this video as its the tool I, as a 10 year veteran tech, use the most.

Thanks so much for all your videos and the clear presentations. You have helped me so much as a DIY. Just wondering what gauge and kind of wire do you use for splicing two broken wires together in a heat pump and/or an air handler? Can you use a lower gauge such as 12 to splice together a broken 14 gauge wire? I suppose what I am trying to ask is do you keep one gauge wire with you on service calls or different gauge wires and if so do you know if Amazon, etc. sells it in a bundle (similar to thermostat wire but different size wire gauge) and what is the best wire to use. Just trying to think ahead if I come across a broken wire in my heat pump due to mice, etc. Again, thanks for all you do and thanks for your time!

Enjoy all of your vids. As a CNC tech I had small and larger screw electric screw drivers. Some power supplies have 15 screws connections + 5/16 or 7/16 nuts. Not to mention the 480 volts incoming a lot of screws and nuts. I got rid all of them now I only carry this one. I found the best electric screw driver for control direction and speed + torque . The DEWALT gyroscopic in line screwdriver #DCF682N1. Check it out it is worth the money

That clc kneeling pad is definitely a must best $40 I ever spent. They have a furnace door switch magnet called the ol switcharoo it’s works on every application check it out

That non contact voltage tester is a waste of money because in heating and air conditioning we need to know how much electricity is going to the unit if it's got 24 volts not just does it have power 1 volt will make that light up
