Autumnnus Dawn black henna is black bc of super dangerous chemicals. So no. The chemicals are used to make the henna darker faster that’s why it’s black and do not buy it. It can give you chemical burns and the smell is enough to cause a headache (also freckles ain’t black, they’re brown, why would u even use it.)

Zak “us Asians” bruh. I mean this nicely but when someone is asking of advice on sensitive topics like this wouldn’t you agree it’s always better to be safe than sorry? Of course you should always test it. Even regular henna. But black henna is specifically called that because of the chemicals in it. There’s very little plant substance in black mehndi. There are very very dark types of mehndi too, sometimes mixed together with chemicals but black mehndi especially is just mostly chemicals. So just be mindful of that. Also you don’t know how it’ll affect your lungs or even your skin long term. I agree with you on the testing thing tho

If people are surrounded by people who like their freckles they'll like them. I didn't even notice mine often until people pointed them out. At one point I did want smooth, skin without all the pigment. Now I try to avoid hiding my freckles when I put on concealer. I'm sure most people with freckles have a similar story. Okay so this has been out for a while but just letting y’all know there are several types of henna that turn brown, orange and black/dark brown Brown - natural and good quality, no harsh chemicals, relatively quick to take to skin Orange - can be both natural or have chemicals but it’s just not the look you want to go for Dark brown/black - the most dangerous kind. Will have a super artificial/chemical (almost like kerosene) type smell, when it begins to fade it looks like it’s peeling off instead, very very bad for you, extremely quick to take to skin, just a few seconds, visible darkening immediately due to chemicals. You can’t tell which one is which just from looking at the packets so always test on your hands first. When I say test I mean put some on your hand, wait for it to dry, wash it off and wait till the next day to see if you have any reactions (also bc henna changes colour as time passes). If you want to see (most likely) how it will look on your face make some practice freckle on your WRIST

im seeing so many of the same comments, so i want to explain what this is. faux freckles are definitely a makeup/fashion statement, usually people wear them in the summertime to give off a sun-kissed glow. we all know freckles are melanocytes over producing melanosomes (or the pigment in our skin). but also when our skin is unprotected from the sun, we get small sun spots OR otherwise known as freckles! a lot of us (myself included) with freckles have grown up feeling self conscious and hating them. i know it’s weird to see a video of a woman putting faux freckles on, but it should be a positive! freckles are coming into style, more and more people are recognizing that freckles are extremely cute !!!!

At my previous job I worked right next to a large window, and I live in a sunny country. That side of my face had some freckles after the summer... but I would prefer to henna them instead, and avoid the sun altogether, tbh. Also if we're gonna talk trends let's also discuss fashion glasses, cause I remember when wearing glasses was uncool and unsexy and now people wear them all the time for "aesthetics".
