Thanks Richard yes i agree. I kept it real simple for all ages to understand. There are alot more qualified persons that can explain it than myself but it should be something people should be aware of if they get involved with inverters and wind and solar.

Ian, From what I understand the sun type gti's are pure sign. And for hooking it up to a battery bank. If you don't have high amps going into the battery bank, it will draw down the bank power quick, because with the inconsistent winds going up and down. I feel with the winds you have, the gti won't draw it down so fast. But i've tried it and without the input of 50 to 100 amps. It won't keep the amps to fill the bank and put into the grid, but testing is what it all about. Thanks Ian for vid.

Here is an idea I am pondering. Most of my experiments are on a community farm. It's a bit of a challenge to pull solar and wind back to a central location. An easier mean is to use GTI's around the farm supplementing the grid power. When the main panel is either on battery/inverter or generator, these GTI's will work with the off the grid power too.

Yes at the moment i will have to split the grid tie with the battery bank but a low voltage cut of would be great. thanks, ian

I think a good way to put the mod sound wave and pure sound wave. I would say mod is more on & off. and pure is a smother on on off (that would make a smother transition) ? yes that is 2 on's. nice video great job of describing the 2 differences.. from what I have seen with gti inverters is that if you want one to pump power back in the gride all the time when the sun is out you need one that will stop workign if voltage is low. IE 22 to 52 volt system for a 24 volt system and so on but testing is cool

Yes ,I agree with those guys . It's just a matter of having a low voltage cut off. I just wouldn't go lower than a full charge like 12.6V for instance. That way you're always left with a full battery for other uses. The thing that concerns me is that you have a huge turbine compared to a relatively small battery bank. I guess it's just a matter of having a big enough gti to handle those days when the wind just won't let up. Testing and babysitting it is your bet. Hows that hip anyways ?

Thanks jeff, hip doing well , first day back in the work shop, so much work now to catch up on with my carved work but like some moth? to a flame i started redesigning the blades for the new belt drive. I dont know why leamy and the windy boys keep making excuses for the ampre reading from the direct drive wait till they see them from the belt drive!

The second is for wind with the 3 phase output with a DC dump output to a resistive load for overpower to the GTI. This is not for batteries, heater/water heater, lamps.

The third has a high cost but has more abilities. The ac grid would be an input and the ac output would go to the house or what ever you are powering. Depending the inverter you maybe able to use the 3 phase or dc input, multiple dc inputs. your service will be supplied by either wind or solar or battery bank, if these are not available then the grid if available is used. If a generator is tied in than that could be used. This smart GTI will charge batteries from surplus. With the battery bank

OK, so here is what I understand. All GTI has to be pure sine to match the grid. The GTI will sync with the grid power to match wave forms or a fire can result, when the grid goes down, the GTI will shutoff. There are 3 types that I know of, GTI for solar/wind, GTI for wind with 3 phase output and GTI with battery option. The first has a DC input from solar panels or wind with a dc output, however there is no dc dump from the wind if the power goes over the limit of the inverter. Best for solar.

Thanks yes it makes sence thanks. will increase the size of my battery bank and the size of the Gti possible 5000w in the near future. this will incorporate the new dual belt drive turbine. hopefully my masterfurl design on both turbines will protect from those Atlantic storms that last for weeks in the winter. thanks hip on the mend?

From what i understand, the modified Inverter will operate almost any AC product, just how long. Motors overheat, so a shorter life. Many electronics run poorly too. Yes they cost almost double, why buy the cheap stuff first only to replace it later, along with some appliances. And when shopping for true or pure sine wave, if it doesn't say it in the specs, it is probably not. Best to you, john

Billy, after a few days of tinkering with the power jack gti its very hard to keep it in its operating range 14 to 28v unconnected to a battery the votage is way out the ball park.as i am using a 12v system like your self thats will keep the voltage too low.my only conclusion is a 24v battery.not sure of your operating voltage but i dont think it will last long as a dump as the voltage drops from 14.5v to 12v real fast rendering the gti useless?as a dump need 24v.hope this is of some help.ian

thanks, yes EN50438 to comply and G83 for UK and Europe. funny EN50438 only deals with Ireland and Portugal? Interesting point if the inverter is on the consumer side and it has Island protection how will they ever know?

Another GTI will just feed your power to the grid through a meter to sell power. The other GTI's I mentioned is intended to supply power to your power needs before you pull it from the grid. Whether it turns the meter backwards let us know. Questions
