Sir, I have a doubt regarding a condition. If a patient develop tension pneumothorax, he will be tachycardiac and soon become unresponsive. In such a case if we compress the chest, pressure will further increase in pleural cavity. If this happens outside the hospital setting, people around the patient might not identify the condition or might not have authority to decompress the chest. But this has to be done immediately. Can you please explain how to handle this situation, and also mention weather CPR worsen the condition in this case or not, and are there any other condition in which we should not go for CPR even though the patient is unresponsive.
@INTELLECTMEDICOS3 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about a scenario outside the hospital, then obviously you need to continue the CPR as you are not well equipped outside the hospital. But if you are inside the hospital, & if you are suspecting pneumothorax, then obviously you need to decompress ASAP. So basically you have to continue CPR and simultaneously rule out 5H's & 5 T's (will discuss in my next video on ACLS) ☺️ I hope, I'm able to clear your doubt☺️
@sunshinecity82732 жыл бұрын
Hi, love ur video. U really explained this very well to my understanding. However, I'm a little bit confused about the AED. I thought the AED replaces the CPR? But after it arrives, the nurse still carried on with the cpr. So wat is the AED for? Thank u and hope to here from u.

Hello Thank u for the detailed explanation. My query is shouldn't the code blue/ambulance be called after checking the pulse and breathing and not before it becoz the person might be malingering or it's just some other minor problem??
