Question,do you not put oil in your filter when changing it ? It always better to put oil in the filter that way. When you start it up your not dry starting .

I put oil in it for the last video and everyone said to not do that. In reality it will be totally fine without it. However, I did add oil around the gasket of the oil filter!

@@KaylaRundle They’re idiots. You were doing it correctly. Oil in filter, oil on the rubber gasket. Like Jakecannom said, it prevents a dry start. Old ZL1 fart here.

Man! And also Man with out a name, there is no dry start if you crank it over within 2 minutes of adding the last bit. It's like residual heat since all that oil is still hanging around not all the way down to basement oil pan.

You should definetly pre-fill the filter with oil, and rub the filter gasket with oil, better safe than sorry.

Walmart has oil a lot cheaper by the 5 quart jug. Don't know if they have your brand, I use Castrol Edge 5-30 in my beast!! Great video Kayla. Thank you and God bless.

hey kala, i want to do a oil change on my camaro SS. but not sure exactly how much oil i need. first you said 10 quarts then you said 8 quarts. but some people told me i need 6.5 quarts. can you please tell me how many quarts you use on your beautiful camaro ?

Always be sure to check the manual and look up your specific car versus going off what people say. My car specifically takes 8 quarts

I use that exact same oil in my 71 Camaro. I did notice that it burns off a little easier. It must slip by the rings on my car since it's old. The engine is actually out of a 91 Z28 but it's still an old engine. It actually freaked me out when I first saw it was blue. 😁

Also, helpful tip: When you pour the oil hold the spout up so the oil pours out smoothly. It seems backwards but it works really well. V8TV has a good video about it. " The Correct Way to Pour Engine Oil "
