Thank you so much for this Baban! I always scratch my head trying to understand these tools. This video has helped clarify some things.

I put down a horizon line for a 2-pt perspective, but then rotated it slightly (for a "dutch" camera angle). But now I cannot create vertical lines at right angle to my rotated horizon. It just snaps to one of the vanishing points. It's a bit hard to explain, but if you "get it," can you tell me what's happening?

I actuly screemed when i saw you talk about Shift+ click on the ruler Icon. for years i have complained that to turn it on, just click it, but if it is on, clicking dose nothing. ofcourse clip added a hot key that make sloose sens, for no reason. iv been using the menue this whole time.

Yeah it's really unintuitive that clicking doesn't doesn't turn it off. No sure if that's a thing they'll ever fix but I hope it is! I think it does turn it back on if you just click it but I wish it worked both ways.

Do you typically make your larger than the final drawn area for the sake of placing your vanishing points? I've never thought of that and always just had them off canvas with the ruler but that's so simple.

In the sketch I like to yes, then I resize everything or crop it out of what I have. With the newer updates the rulers seem to resize with whatever layer you have it on so it's way easier to get that to work. I do still pull them off the page depending on how much I thumbnail what I'm drawing first but generally I like to have the space when I start.

@@BabanIllustration I see that's very helpful to know. I've been having trouble setting up a two point perspective ruler using just the ruler tool, but the premade ones under layer -> frame -> perspective ruler have worked well for me. I imagine they're functionally identical right?

should make a gumroad so people can buy your tutorials.
@BabanIllustration2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about that actually, I have a lot of exclusive ones on the patreon right now, but I'm not sure if something like that is a better option, or an option I could use alongside patreon.
@artistpro42712 жыл бұрын
@@BabanIllustration I wouldn't say better or worse,but you could use it alongside patreon. I know some artist have videos on skillshare/Udemy and still put there tutorials on gumroad. Some people don't like subscriptions and like to buy individuals course/tutorial. Like i use to have a skillshare subscription but i didn't want to pay $165 per year on going. Fortunately some tutorials were on gumroad so now i have them forever. Hope this helps i'd like to buy some of your tutorials cause i have CSP and its a little difficult trying to follow a photoshop tutorial and convert it into CSP at least for me.
