I have used my Olympus FL36 successfully with my FZ-200 and have never damaged the camera or had the flash not fire. My neighbor used the Olympus FL50 with his FZ200 and did not have a problem. Finally, use of the on-camera flash with the lens hood will result in a large shadow being cast by it. Panasonic recommends removal of the hood when using the on-camera flash.

Hi Graham I’ve been watching your videos sine I bought a LUMIX fz300 last year and I’ve learnt a lot. Thank you. I know that I cannot use the on camera flash while on burst mode. Do you know if there’s a way I can use off camera flash on burst mode. I heard that even the G9 does not allow the use of generic flash on burst mode, but Panasonic flashes are so expensive. Do you have any solutions?

Hello Graham I bought an FZ 200 some years ago (even before your excellent manual was created) together with a Nissin i40 speedlight. The i40 is a splendid piece of kit and particularly easy to use in manual mode you simply twiddle the dials unlike the faffing about with the Canon flash I use on my 7D2 and 5D4. As you seem to have excellent technical as well as photographic knowledge can you advise whether using the i40 on these Canon models(in manual mode) will likely cause damage. I suspect not, but I'm loathe to try it out and regret at leisure. In essence are they trigger voltages compatible as I can find nothing to help on the internet.

Graham, have you any recommendations for flash units for a Canon D600 and could I use these units on an FZ82 as well?

I'm doubting wether I buy a Godox TT350o or a TT685o for my Lumix DMC FZ 200. Anyone advice for me? Thanks

The 685 has more power if you really need that for bounce flash type pictures. The 350 is a better size balance on the camera as it is a little more compact for the smaller camera body. With flash big is usually better but you have to balance this with the size of camera body that you will be using it for. As the FZ200 is firing in TTL mode you won't get the advantages of shooting manual with these guns which is where the creative flash pictures are created. You could use the flash off-camera in S2 mode for some additional lighting with the pop-up flash being the main source.

Graham, which one would you personally recommand, it's mostly for portrait or productphotography, off-camera. Thanks
