@@JonathonS-x1g as far as figuring out your build grab everything you want to fit in the vehicle and lay it out on the floor. I used tape to kind of mark out the maximum amount of room I had in the cabin. Then kind of brainstormed from there. Once you get going on the build it will come together. Hardest part is getting it started. It is definitely a game changer as far as time savings.

My set up is in the back of my 1992 f150. I built a custom rack out of pressure treated lumber. I literally use an 80 gallon recycling bin for my water tank 😂 It works great and was free! To fill it, I just pop the top and pour in water. Using a sunjoe spx3000. I was gravity feeding for a while but recently added an RV water pump which upped my gpm a bit. I use the 60ft pressure washer reel from Girraffe. It works well. I didn’t wanna fool with buying all the parts and not knowing the psi rating for all the fittings like you mentioned.
@jamiesdetailing5 ай бұрын
That sounds like a super creative setup with the water tank! Sounds like a pretty functional setup! I totally feel you on not wanting to fool with buying all the parts needed and such for the air hose reel conversion. It was a cheap option to get going a year back or so. Definitely better options on the market now. Thanks for sharing 👊🏾

I always thought the bumper tips were interesting for what you already said. If you've got a pressure washer close enough to the surface to worry about bumping it, you've probably already done some amount of damage from the high pressure🤷♂️ they look damn good though that's about all they got for me

Love this!! Well done. I love all the details man. Thanks so much. I'm brand new to detailing but I just love seeing rigs like this. I've been looking at the round tanks from Tractor Supply. Since their round, I would think they're much less likely to warp when full. Have you even used one of those and what was your experience?? Also how many cars can you knock out before you need ot refill your tank? Anyways good stuff and I just found your channel and subed so I'll look through some of your other vids also.
@jamiesdetailing5 ай бұрын
Honestly I really only ever do around 2 full details per day or one coating. So I don’t need much water. If I am super conservative I can get 2 cars out of my tank but I typically refill in between jobs. The round tanks are a better option but take up more space which I am super limited on 😩 but if you have the room definitely go for the tractor supply round tank. They are much more sturdy. I have not personally used one but have seen a ton of other people like lawn care guys using them and I checked them out in person at farm and fleet but decided to go with the slimmer rectangular tank. Appreciate the kind words as well 👊🏽🙌

I tried using a water pump but it kept leaking so I just said screw it

Hi Jamie, What fitting sizes do I need to connect the tank and the Flexzilla hose ? Trying to do the same connections as yours.

Going to have to step up your game on the pressure washer, my friend. Inexpensive little units like the Ryobi are excellent for the short term. Serviceable units are the way to go, though. I am absolutely not crapping on other people’s choice of pressure washers, I’m trying to explain why you should invest in a more expensive, more durable and better performing one. Nobody “needs” a $6k pressure washer. In fact, you don’t “need” a pressure washer at all. But if you’re going to speed up your process, why not invest in it in a more practical way? Of course, as always, I’m full of opinions … take them as you will. 😊😊😊
@jamiesdetailing5 ай бұрын
Hey I totally agree with you on that! I actually have been looking to upgrade for awhile but this one is still going strong so I haven’t bumped up yet. I officially just crossed the two-year mark so I think I might reward myself with a new pressure washer in the very near future. It would definitely be nice to have a higher GPM.

@@jamiesdetailingI have many suggestions on pressure washers. Of course I’m going to lead the march on a Kranzle, but it’s definitely NOT budget oriented and ultimately not necessary. The Comet, AR Blue, etc. are all high quality units but not very affordable. It’s why I often recommend the Active 2.0 because it offers a happy medium between a cheap and expensive unit. I’ve never owned an Active 2.0 but I have used them several times. They’re really good. 😊😊😊

There are a ton of good ones but I like Superclean because it great all around and easy to get pretty much anywhere. Muscle Magic by Superior Products is actually what I now use instead of Superclean. A little stronger and more dilutable and I can just order it with my other products.
@Reaper-Jim4 ай бұрын
@@jamiesdetailingI agree with SC being one of the best and most economical. However, if you’re not in to chemical lung busters, I’d steer clear. Safe cleaners are the way to go imo. Safe for you, safe for the vehicle. P&S Brake Buster is decent, less caustic but a little more expensive. Unfortunately, it’s only effective at up to 5:1 dilution. DIY Detail All Clean is also a great cleaner with no measurable effects on your health. It’s quite a bit more expensive but then it can be diluted 15:1 easily. Also, BioWorx APC is non-toxic AND biodegradable but is a little less effective. Trade offs, right? 😊😊😊

2.5 on the ryobi is 1050 psi what’s the 3.5 run at? 7ish?
@jamiesdetailing5 ай бұрын
Honestly I have never put a guage to it but it is super soft so I got to say around 650-750psi. I definitely think it is enough for most vehicles. If you get something absolutely trashed from sitting under a tree for instance you might wish you had a small tip like what you already have but 3.5mm might be something to try just to see if you like the lower pressure.

@@jamiesdetailing I appreciate the response, I had a 40 gallon and found myself having to refill in the middle of washes. I had to refill twice the other day while doing a Durango, it was pretty dirty but man it took up more time than I wanted it to. I’m also using an active 2.0 pressure washer so idk if that is the reason why I’m going thru the tank so fast 🤷🏻♂️
@jamiesdetailing5 ай бұрын
I totally get that. I didn’t get better with my water usage until I actually got my tank and realized how much extra water I was using. I typically use well under 30 gallons per wash these days but when I first started, I was using about 60 gallons and always needed to refill my tank to finish a job. You also have to think about the pressure washer you’re using if you’re using 2 gallons per minute on a 30 gallon tank you only have 15 minutes of water per job. One of the reasons I’m still using a 1.2 GPM pump it really does help you conserve water. And absolutely I always try to respond when I can 👊🏽
