Really helpful video even for me here in the UK. I love the way you demonstrate real world useability. In particular you've sold me on the idea of a 1/4" hose instead of 3/8", since like you I was leaning towards 3/8 for the same spurious reasons. I want to upgrade the (rubbish) stock hose / fittings on my DIY pressure washer so that it is Quick Connect for the full pipeline. Thanks for the info.
@CarsWithKeav8 ай бұрын
Yeah, it all comes down to preference and when upgrading a DIY setup Uberflex is a great option. Now once you decide to go all out the 3/8 hose is what I would suggest if running and AR630 or a Kranzle. They seem to run better in a 3/8 vs a 1/4 from what I have witnessed.

Great review, as a DIYer running good old Sun Joe unit, I wouldn’t even consider the Uber flex hose mostly because thinking it would negatively impact the performance / water flow and so on ,especially downsizing from 15mm attachment to 14mm, i’m glad I saw your review and it’s clear it doesn’t impact water flow/GPM. I definitely thought there would be a big difference between 3/8 and 1/4” @ 50’. Thanks.
@CarsWithKeav3 ай бұрын
50 foot or less there is almost no difference. Going beyond 50 foot is when I would run 3/8 hose. The 14mm and 15mm connections is the outer diameter of the plug. The inner diameter is the same so no difference in performance between them. Uberflex might have an impact on more expensive machines such as Active pressure washers as they have much more water flow and Uberflex has no wire braiding to maintain inner diameter so it can expand causing issues with the pressure switch for the auto start/stop. I noticed on their website they say to only use steel braided hose and now I know why. Over time my Active 2.0 now surges anytime I use the Uberflex so I moved on to a Blueshield Kevlar 3/8 hose. Uberflex is perfect though for Sunjoe, Ryobi, Greenworks, etc.

@CarsWithKeav8 ай бұрын
Me too, but got to remember we are 2% of the market when it comes to pressure washer accessory sales. Most of the world doesn’t care about the fittings. M22 itself is a great connection when it comes to being a hand tight no leak connection that easy for a consumer. You can connect quick connects to m22 pretty easily and even if you have 3/8 pre-installed you still need an m22 to QD adapter.

I'm curious about actual cleaning performance while using either hose vs just a measurement of pressure at the wand.

Only at the point the pressure washer might see some restriction probably around the 3gpm mark is only time I’ve seen GPM change at 50ft of hose. Now if your running 100ft with 1/4 inch hose then there will be some pressure drop and most likely some flow drop.

I’m wondering what you think would work better for it, I see everyone that does comparisons in hoses, doing so with lower powered electric pressure washers, so I’m wondering if this has an effect?! I’m debating between 50 foot uberflex 1/4 or 50 foot 5/16 flexzilla. Both rates at 3100 psi max… but also flexzilla makes a 1/4” 3,600 psi max that’s about $30 more than the 1/4” 3100 psi max. You’re right. You need a steady supply of disposable income to shop their on the reg. From what I understand mosmatic isn’t as quality as they’re perceived. I’ve never tried them.

Just costs too much. The mosmatic fittings and swivel are unmatched in the industry, but just not worth the money to me. Matt has a great niche there with the disposable income people, but he still sells Active and MTM because he need the sales volume. I hate to admit I was stuck in an OG mindset for some time. I was brain washed. 🤣

For sure, his niche is disposable income and the best of the best. Problem is a lot of the time best of the best means most expensive and what products he can get an exclusive on. I heard that’s why he went mosmatic after helping design the MTM SGS28 they would not do an exclusive OG spec for him.

I have the Uberflex with the 2.0 and love it so far.

I’m new to the hobby. Having a blast with it. The OG stuff definitely looks sweet, but I’m rocking a Ryobi 1800, Uberflex, MTM reel, McKillans swivel gun and MJJC v3 cannon. I can’t imagine that OG gear would make a difference to me. Subbed. Great stuff man!!
