Ok so i'm in 4.15, and I had attempted also in 4.14.1 Anyways followed that video exactly and for the life of me could not get the reflections to work on the translucent material. I also have a non translucent material in the scene to confirm that the planer reflections were working. I also tried with and without the planner reflections check box inside the material and also together with Surface ForwardShading and Surface TranslucencyVolume selected in the lighting mode of the material.

My apologies for taking so long to respond. I'm moving my computers to a new office so haven't really touched anything in a couple of weeks. Thank you for the solutions. I pinned your comment.

Just wondering, are you getting the same results when you move the Planar Reflection actor away from the mesh with the reflecting material so that it does not intersect? I guess this is the way ithe feature was designed. but the overall behavior is different than without the translucency. Thanks Epic for the confusing time !

many many thanks to turn my request into a tutorial, hopefully it will be usefull to others . believe it or not but i have tried something similar but it did not work, after watching your tutorial it did XD or maybe it's just because i have tried many things and get confused at the end . anyway i think it's a really good for a starting point and i will stick with this result for the moment . maybe in the future i will try to enhance it to get more closer to my original goal . thanks again !

Thanks a lot for this tutorial! I have a pb : the "show preview plane" doesn't appear in my version of UE (4.12)... Do you have a solution without this ? thanks !

Fantastic tutorial! One question, however: My falloff is happening on a vertical piece of glass very quickly - about 6' away. Nothing I do in terms of adjusting the fadeout start and end seems to make a difference. Any suggestions? Tnx

hi, How do u increase the reflection value?

You have to fool around with the Roughness settings. I haven't actually gone back to this so I am just guessing at the moment.

This was an old method. I am not too sure if it works with the latest Unreal version. But I will have a look at new tutorials in the next week.
