Every language has certain things that I love, and certain things I'm not so crazy about. This is one of the latter. In English we can express the year in three to six syllables. And here, to express 1961 we're up to a dozen. Don't get me wrong, I love the Russian language but, this is one aspect where I just kind of scratch my head and go "um- okay, I guess."

How do I improve my russian listening skills?
@AmazingRussian
@AmazingRussian 2 жыл бұрын
This is a very broad question, that does not have a simple answer. There are many strategies and activities for students. If you are doing self-studies, you should make sure to listen to something of your level and on the topic you are familiar with. This skill is hard to develop and master on your own. I believe the best way for developing your interpretive listening is to listen to something (story, conversation, etc.) and try to get the gist of it, then more and more details. You can search exercises on the Internet. They can be applied to any language. I wish you luck! Удачи!

In my opinion, true mastery belongs to one who knows how to teach the reading instruct. Although ma'am, for those who learn Russian in basic levels, you could have mentioned shortly that the years are counted in ordinal numbers by the considering birth of Jesus C. Nevertheless, as a colleague of yours, surely and for briefly, I find the information quite remarkable and explanatory video.

Please i need your help what is the difference between “он не дома” and” его нет дома” and thank you from my soul ❤️🥺
@AmazingRussian
@AmazingRussian 2 жыл бұрын
Different focus and structures. When you contrast the place: Он не дома, а на работе (not at home). Его нет дома. - the focus is “he is not present at home, he is not home”. Hope it makes sense.

@@AmazingRussian so if I don't know the person where is he, I should use его нет дома and if say он не дома the person who listens to me knows that the person who asks for him that works now not at the house, please my example correct ❤️

@@jadhat3411 , I would say «его нет дома» instead of «он не дома». When you negate, you can say «он не дома, а на работе» ( but rather at work).

@jadhat3411 2 жыл бұрын
@@AmazingRussian According to the comments I took, if you choose the version in the nominative case, for example, Он не дома here we must declare where the person is now if he is not at home, an example we must say Он не дома, а на работе or Он не дома, а на стадионе this Everything, other structure Его нет дома The emphasis is “He is not at home. Here the person may not know where he is or we do not want to announce where he is now and where 🌹🙏❤️
