Temple needs to offer small/medium/large - rectangular - shaped pedal plates. A lot of pedal makers put information or serials (3:00 these aren't just "stickers" - it's your warranty on a $300-500 pedal) on the bottom of their pedals, sometimes battery covers, etc. Half the pedals I want to mount are requiring several of the small square shaped plates because the larger ones will cover something, even though they would be the better choice otherwise.

Both the guitarists in our band use these, they are great! Love them! Just for safety we use cable ties on the power supplies as the weight can sometimes drag them off.

I use one and really like it. One word of advise, don't store it vertically. I had mine in it's carrying case and had it leaning up against the wall in my music room. A month later, thanks to gravity and probably some humidity, the pedals all had shifted and slid all over the place, but the plates of course stayed in place, and I had to remove the plates, buy new adhesive from Temple to reattach the plates in the right spot. Other than that, I absolutely love the board.

I seems really dumb to have the thumb screws large enough to prevent putting pedals there. That’s a lot of wasted space. Why don’t they make flat screws?

A good concept . . assembled a Duo 24 for my son who gigs a lot. It does have some drawbacks, particularly the IEC Module I referred to on the other video. I doubt its longevity for road use and expect to see it back at base, a few times, for some robust repairs. Nice looking unit . . I'll stick with my Neutrik fitted Pedaltrain

What if you wanted to put a pedal directly above the power supply?
@claymccown7 жыл бұрын
I know this is a year old video but I would say based on the demo, you would need to make sure the plate width was wide enough to accommodate another pedal to go on top. For instance, I have the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power Mondo, so if I wanted to put my volume pedal on top of where the power supply is mounted underneath, I would want to make sure that I put the plates as far to the edges on the power supply as I could so the volume pedal could mount in between the thumb screws on the top.

RisenMedia You've probably already found out, but Temple Audio actually sells another plate that you can mount under your board so that you can put your PS there.
@romdos115 жыл бұрын
@@claymccown I know this is now 2 years old, but I also have the Mondo and just got a 34" DUO and the Mondo absolutely will ONLY fit all the way to the back of the board with only enough space to plug in a right angle IEC cable. What you were saying about putting the plates way out to the edges won't work because there's no space between the top of the p/s and the bottom of the board for you to place the thumbscrews. I even got the Voodoo ears they sell and they tighten the p/s all the way up to the board so there's no room above it for the thumbscrews to be. These guys are scammers. Of course, their super expensive p/s will fit, but they make the height so low that you can't even put the Mondo oriented from front to back. The ONLY option is to mount it most of the way to the back of the board longways and give up about 20% of your space on top.
@romdos115 жыл бұрын
@@bigcheese4510 But you lose ALL the space on top that the power supply takes underneath since they don't make the board tall enough to fit anything but the CIOKS power supply which THEY make. They're scammers gouging for cheap stuff and making their product ONLY work with other products only THEY make. And that's fine if they didn't try to make it sound like you could put any power supply you want under there. Technically you can, but however many pedals you can sit on top of your power supply is how many pedals you WON'T be able to put on the top of your board

There are serious issues/conflicts with the mounting of pedals they haven't addressed as designed. I might buy one if they were half the $ and the mounting plates were free. Looks like too many cases where the plates won't really work.

These boards are cool., but they really get you of the fasteners ! Looking at $60 for more for a medium size board for enough quick release fasteners. I like the design a lot . Still worth it with the fasteners being extra $ May get one of these board but still just use Pedal board tape .

So if all of my pedals already have loop Velcro, can I use the hook side, instead of the adhesive that comes on the mounting plates? The thought of removing industrial strength Velcro and cleaning all of the residue doesn't sound fun. Then again I'd have to clean off the double stick foam tape off of the plate, but at least with Velcro on the pedals and plates, I can swap pedals. Thnx

I see no benefits to these boards over a PedalTrain at all. The idea behind these boards is that their locking pieces (that you have to buy separately) hold the pedals on better. But one side of those pieces is just adhesive (the same concept as Velcro). So you have to buy extra pieces and deal with lining them up in the holes as opposed to just using Velcro across the entire board like a PedalTrain. Am I missing something?
@lankududniteshift3 жыл бұрын
I'v been using the Temple Audio Duo 24 pedalboard since 2018 till today. I also have another smaller board which is the Pedaltrain Metro 24. I personally feel that the Temple board are very versatile. You don't have to use those plates to mount your pedals. On my TempleAudio Duo 24, with the exception of the Boss MS3, all of my pedals including the Strymon Zuma & Strymon Ojai R30 power supply (both mounted at the bottom) uses Dual Locks, instead of Temple Audio's locking pieces (which is called QUICK RELEASE mounting plates). With Dual Locks, i don't have to worry about the placement of any pedals/power supply under the board with regards to the plate's big screws sticking out on top & compromising the positioning of any pedals on top. This applies vice versa, where i can place any pedals on top without compromising the placement of any pedals/power supplies at the bottom. I have been using this concept since day 1 (2018) till today & have not had any issues what so ever & i could easily swap or change any pedals anywhere on the pedalboard whenever i want to.... Below is a link to my video, showing my Temple Audio DUO 24 board, both from the top & from the bottom view: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnaolGtngdmXqcU

I don’t like Velcro because they come off so easily if you’re trying to experiment with pedal order often
@haddockvision26312 жыл бұрын
So you can't mount any pedals above the power supply? That seems a waste of space and a massive design flaw.
@romdos115 жыл бұрын
Thes guys are like Apple only *their* stuff works well with their system. For example, if you want to mount a Voodoo power supply, you will give up the entire footprint of the power supply on the top of the board even though you mount it on the bottom. This is because even at the back of the board, it's barely tall enough to accommodate your average Voodoo P/S. So there's no room for the thumbscrews that hold the pedal to the top of the board. So that WHOLE AREA will have to be left blank. Walrus power supplies are even taller than Voodoo, so forget those too! But guess what? The CIOKS ($150 for only 5 outputs) p/s they make fits perfectly! Not to mention the outrageously priced jack modules, IEC connectors, etc. It was a really good Idea but greed is going to spell the demise for Temple Audio.
@PinchTune4 жыл бұрын
You guys really have to be more creative. I mean, these TA guys offer all the little options to mount your stuff but there is nothing holding anyone back from using a combination of things. For example, the power supply underneath could be mounted with all sorts of different brackets available only. These boards are nothing more than sheet metal that can be drilled and with flat head screw, be nearly flush to the top of the board. You could also use a combination of Temple's sticky mount thingies, 3M Extreme VHB double sided tape, velcro, 3M Dual lock... etc, to achieve the desired results. If anyone can't figure this out might as well hire someone to build their board for them.
