Took pro lessons from a dude in the Bay Area who was the considered the King Of Songo and he couldn't hold a candle to your way of teaching this tough groove. You earned a new sub today good man. Great feel and execution. Those drums sound great too. Looking forward to more shit!

Songo is hard for one reason. When I play worship music i use the kick pedal A LOT but in songo you have to time the kick one specific way which is TUN TUN. TUN TUN. TUN TUN. I’ve been having trouble whit that cause I can’t concentrate my foot on doing that all the way through so I can either play the snear and ride ether wey it supposed to or kick the right way which it’s the most important part of the songo. That kick will mark the time for everyone else.

Im pretty sure that if someone plays that "songo" with Van Van, Pupy or Maikel Blanco it will sucks . Stop teaching that "songo pattern".That is just the wrong interpretation of Songo from Europeans and americans drummers around the world.. If someone are interesting about to learn Songo, please do it from his creator. José Luis Quintana "Changuito".

TheVikingtropical el singo tiene variaciones y no precisamente se va siempre sobre el mismo patrón.

@@shapshooter7769 That only means cuban music is too much for your musical talent. Sorry
@shapshooter7769 Жыл бұрын
@@TheVikingtropical It is since I am no Cuban. Changuito hasn't really Americanized his style. I will look for someone who has - Dave Weckl is probably the guy to look to.
