Basic suspension upgrade on my Road King Special

So I venture to Geelong Harley Davidson after hours to see Col, I'm getting the Road King ready for its next adventure. You wont believe where Im heading. I hate failing and this time I won't ! The bike gets a once over and a basic suspension upgrade.

Danny you DO NOT want the new shocks set at bike weight ,you are loading the bike up for the trip ,what you need to do is roughly weigh what you are planning to take ,put the same weight ie use your Gym weights,in the bags & then go ride the bike on some rough roads & adjust the shocks to what feels best ,you should be at least one full turn above bike weight for the weight you want the new shocks for & the corrugated dirt road you will be riding ,or there is no point in changing them .Ride the bike with roughly the weight you will be carrying for the trip to decide shock setting & FFS BOTH SHOCKS MUST BE ADJUSTED THE SAME,DO NOT JUST DO ONE SIDE . IMO you are best off putting the weights on,test ride it & then getting the workshop to do a adjustment .The Numbnuts at Harley who think Col shows them in a bad light should be sacked as he is the greatest advertisement for good Bike work shop service a company could have & exactly what the company needs more of .

When Colin asked can you hear it rubbing when he was spinning the rear wheel and you said yes, what you did hear was the brake disc rubbing against the pads. I could clearly hear that with headphones on, but the belt rubbing has gone. Love those guys at GHD. :)
