For the scotch tape one I would recommend painters tape instead You could take off a bit of adhesive on your soothes or a table and use it instead so you will be able to remove the tape later with minimal damage to the tooth of your paper

Ali Moeen786 ......? Tooth of the paper means the texture of it cold press paper has more texture than hot press and rough paper has more than cold press

Lana Nassruldeen do you use watercolor paper? You can get it at an art store. Normal paper doesn't cut it, because the water will soak the paper.

Lana Nassruldeen ticker paper may help if your paper gets too soggy🙃 or you could try reducing the amount of water used at one time while painting
