This song is a favorite among many LP fans despite the story behind it that not too many people know of. If you wanna know more continue reading this comment: This song had two different lyrics written separately by Mike and Chester's about their past experiences which I'm sure you can tell is NOT pleasant judging by the lyrics. For Mike it was about being intimidated by a bully. For Chester, it's a lot more scarring since it is about the cycle of abuse. Chester was sexually and physically abused for seven years throughout his childhood from seven to thirteen years old by an older male family friend who was also a victim of long term abuse. Hope this info didn't ruin this song for you. It's also one of my fave LP songs. You have yet to react to LP's best songs like Breaking the habit, The Little things give you away, Bleed it Out and Pushing me away. These are just some examples

You might not have seen this song recommended much because in comparison to more recent songs of theirs it's one of their old ones, I was lucky enough to see them live in 2003 at Reading Festival and the crowd was mad for them, was so good. This song kicks ass live.

As a teen...I thought this song was about challenging authority...like leaders or parents. Boy...was I wrong lol. I jammed to this song for so long and didn't realize the horrific lyrics and the story behind them until I was in my early twenties. Then I actually thought about the words and had to search for context. No wonder poor Chester had his demons.
